Why is it when Nvidia have a new launch 95% of the focus is on them... But when AMD launch, the discussion always turns to Nvidia lol. AMD still in the shadow of Nvidia even when they're potentially offering the same performance for £150 less

"Ignoring FE"
Lol
and 1 uk store had as you say 100 gigabyte gamings (just 1 model) and you dont think globally they havent physically sold 1000's?
Without numbers listed in stock you have absolutely no idea how many came in.
Well ocuk is a big player and a preferred stockist. And yes I am ignoring the early adopters card, the FE.
They seem to be in plentiful stock mainly cause people arent buying them and would prefer to preorder a better and cheaper AIB. But notice people caving now and settling for a FE.
Just face facts. if they had been decent numbers, then 10,000s would have sold and been shipped.
But you do and you know they havent sold many?
You act like you know it all but we are both ****ing in the wind here.
All i have said is that nvidia have released first and will have sold 1000's (at least as it is obvious)by now. Im not claiming anything else.
You are, you are making it sound like its been the greatest release in sales of a card yet and ignoring the massive shortage which isnt down to massive demand but solely done to the cards not been available to buy.
Think that's all in your head. I think the 1000 series launch has been rubbish.
The chances of a 1080 selling more than a 970 is highly unlikely yet we have fanboys claiming that here . Amazing if all of a sudden £600 cards are mainstream.
Yup, this is the issue. I'm honestly expecting small Vega to give the 1080 a bit of a pasting and I wouldn't be surprised if big vega beat GP102 comfortably as well.
If small vega has HBM2, it will destroy 1080 in overall performance and performance/watt.
That a twist on gibbo's comment from another thread,, Is gibbo a Nvidia fanboy now![]()
Yea Gibbo most likely counts pre orders as sales due to you paying for the item before hand. You can still cancel your order during this time so not exactly a guaranteed sale.
Probably is a bigger demand for the 1080 than there was for the 970 granted but saying there is been more bought than the 970 is abit over exaggerated. Most of the pre orders seem to be AIB cards too while FE are easier to get a hold of. Most likely nVidia keeping most of the GPU for them selfs and distributing less to board partners.
I don't think it is a coincidence that GDDR5X has become the memory to use instead of HBM.
Everyone who posts anything even slightly critical of AMD in here is apparently.
It is a dark place to wander.
But you do and you know they havent sold many?

I think the Titan will, just to give those considering buying it another reason to do so.
Plus it's not like the Titan is built to a budget.
Easy. It offers enough bandwiodth for the current chips and is cheaper than HBM and with the power requirements of the current generations you dont need the power savings from HBM.
AMD made that mistake on the Fury.
There will be chips from both sides which will need HBM2 but these arent them.
In fact, I am pretty sure the Titan and 1080ti wont use HBM either despite what people are hoping for.
