The next Labour leader thread

I'd vote for her.

People in this thread have mentioned the support that Corbyn has in the wider Labour party from his landslide leadership win in stark contrast to the turmoil inside the PLP, but does the wider support still exist?

I was a Corbyn supporter, but after his abject showing in the referendum campaign I am no longer.

Whether Corbyn personally wants to be in the EU or not, one of his main jobs as leader of the opposition is to point out the faults of the government and offer an alternate view.

For example, one of the main issues in the referendum for Brexit supporters was the reduction or strain in local services, with population growth from immigration a major factor in this reduction.

Why the hell did Corbyn and the rest of the Labour party not point out that the lack of services is primarily the result of the Conservative austerity agenda not population growth? Labour pro-remainers should have been banging that drum for months in the run up to the referendum. It was free hits against the Tories but it was never mentioned.

Whether you are brexit or remainer, at least do your job as leader of the opposition! And for that reason alone I no longer support Corbyn.

I see your position. Corbyn opted for Remain to keep the party together. Somewhat understandable given the Blairites loathe him. Equally he was never given a platform much by the media. Their plans are now turning full circle now the democracy has spoken.

Why didn't Corbyn point it out? Have you watched any of PMQT? He raises items like this regularly. It might be difficult hear over the din and booing.

PMQs is completely different to a referendum campagin trail. For one the referendum had significant media presence and they didn't capitalise on it. PMQs are week in week out and the public at large rarely pays much attention to it.

Corbyn is a poor leader within the establishment. Quite frankly I think he'd be better off supporting one of his colleagues who has a similar mindset to him and taking the fight to the people because he is good at talking on the issues at hand.

Why couldn't have Corbyn said at the beginning of this referendum that he personally felt we should leave but the Party line is to stay and as he is captain he would support that. He would have been a winner either way

172 vs 40 vote in for no confidence.

I'm assuming the 172 have stated no confidence?

If it goes to a leadership vote it's likely Corbyn will win again. We'll either be looking at a breakup of Labour or those MPs that have left their roles coming back, tails between their legs.
