Whose the 'we'? you may have voted to leave but most sensible people voted to remain.

Yeh and if we voted remain, then we'd still have David Cameron and none of this would've happened. I made the right choice voting leave, and the damage it has done to both parties further strengthens my choice

That you think the prospect of May or Gove is better than Cameron shows you don't really understand the implications though.

I think when you realise the damage it will do to your pocket personally and the country long term you may wish differently. It's certainly looking bleak for the younger generation.

The sensible minority yes, still you know the saying, you can't argue with stupid. I wonder how many will still be crowing when they realise that immigration will still be the same post brexit.

Have the last word if you like, this is supposed to be about the tories.

So the minority then.

Minority?

Not really, there were many who didn't vote.

You can say their opinion does not count toward the vote and it didn't, but it still does not make them non existent, neither does that make leave voters the majority of the UK populace.

Because everyone that voted Leave did so for immigration reasons

To be fair, a great deal did vote leave due to immigration or what they thought was affected by immigration.

The other main reason for voting was sovereignty and depending on the deal struck, we would be more or less in the same position as now but with no say in the EU.

If this was more stable times, the UK government had a plan in place and we had the majority of the country behind the decision, then a leave result would have been far more acceptable.

The minority of voters. I was speaking about the majority of voters in post #383 & carried on in that vein in post #387. I've edited the post for clarity :)

You've asked them all have you?

He doesn't need to, the opinion polls and surveys carried out make it pretty obvious that for a significant number of leave voter immigration was the most important issue with from what I've read the only thing coming out higher being Sovereignty (what ever that means).

Those motivated by immigration could well be in for a nasty shock when we sign up to free movement to keep our place in the common market as for the leadership election looks like a two horse race o me between Gove and May which could be a close run thing depending on how Gove plays it. Seriously considering joining the party just to vote anyone but Gove the resigning my membership the same day.

Every one of the 15 or so age 55+ Leave-voting-********* at my weekend family BBQ cited immigration before anything else as to why they voted out.

It's anecdotal, but I think it's very fair to say "a great deal did vote leave due to immigration or what they thought was affected by immigration".

Well, I didn't have Boris down as a massive bottler, but he is.

He's managed to get rid of Cameron and just look at the replacements... :(

Gove... seriously? May?!

Good God.

Can Rees-Mogg step forward, I'll happily vote for him.
