NEARLY 2 YEARS WAITING: New Mustang GT PP is finally mine!

what about the 2017 Shelby GT350 Mustang Gibbo ? i'll do more research tomorrow, but it looks like 560 HP.

is this coming here i'm not sure ????

The 2017 is no different to my 2016 GT350, same power, just they've mixed up the option packs now.

They were only planning on doing 2 years, with no plans of selling in Europe or the U.K.

a quick look on Pistonheads, a Mustang GT is about 38k, not a lot more to say really..........

maybe Gibbo is right, we wont be getting anything new over here till 2018 and it's not easy to research either, because there seems to be some confusion coming from Ford over what models they've got lined up............ i saw at least 4 different Mustangs, there's too much hype and i'm too tired right now.

Ford will slip the 2l twin turbo diesel into the mustang, they know despite the protests on here that it would be a winner with joe public who isn't a petrol head and despite dropping 30 grand on a car frets about paying more than £30 a year in road tax and wants to be told his car does 50mpg even it it will never get near that in the real world.

Audi have been pushing tarted up diesels for years now and they sell like hotcakes.

You also said that Shelby will be here by the end of the year, LOL, HAHA, LOL seriously get a grip the Shelby won't be here at end of the year in RHD and a diesel Mustang will probably never arrive, why?

The Americans make the decisions regarding Mustang models, there strongest market is USA, where there is absolute zero demand or request for a diesel Mustang, if America does not want or need it then it will never come to EU/UK, fact.

I already said, Ford official cars are:
Mustang which comes in various trim levels, GT, PP, Premium etc. The only engine in regular Mustang are 2.3l Ecoboost (310BHP), V6 (300BHP) and V8 (410-435BHP).
Shelby GT 350 & 350R.

Those are the official and ONLY models from Ford USA. UK only gets two, 2.3l Ecoboost GT and 5.0 V8 GT PP.

Supercharged Mustangs of any kind of variety are not official Ford product, they are either done by dealerships using FRPP parts (does not void warranty) or they are cars such as Saleen, Roush, Steeda who have deals in place with Ford.

Shelby GT500 as of yet does not exist, it is rumoured to come in 2018 and this car could be a world wide car as it will be larger production numbers than GT 350 & 350R which were meant as a track / racing special limited supply. Whereas GT500 is more about technology and power which would also have greater demand in the EU compared to the GT 350 simply as 500 will have more technology, more options, be faster etc.

However one would think Ford would be manufacturing GT500 to be global as they now know the demand in EU and UK is absolutely huge for such a vehicle and finally there will be something that is the same price as all those sports cars the regular GT was compared too.

But knowing Ford, they will not make it a global car, so we will just have to do with lowly GT's, hehe. :D

It's not that confusing really. Ford haven't publically revealed what models they've got lined up. The only cars sold here are the GT and Ecoboost. In the US, you get the additional base V6, GT350 and GT350R.

Anything else is aftermarket or rumours (e.g. GT500).

www.mustang6g.com is a good source of information.

America didn't want or need a right hand drive Mustang though..

yes exactly, the Mustang is only sold to us as an opportunist ``after thought``....it is primarily made for the American market.

Hi there

Rumour is Mustang is getting a £750 price increase on September 1st and many other Ford's are also increasing in price due to Brexit vote.

So the car I paid £35,385 will cost £38,135 as of 1st September, nearly £3000 increase, the price increases and waiting time for new orders is certainly helping to keep second hand values high. :)

Though there is also rumour that all the options will also increase in price so overall increase could be even more.

Seems I got quite lucky with my first brand new car purchase, but not so lucky on the reliability front and how long it takes them to get parts and action a repair.

They've still got it!?

Are they at least in regular contact with you?

Yes the part should finally be with dealershiip tomorrow hopefully.

It has taken 4 weeks to get this gasket set, the mind boggles as to why as I got the partcode for it last week, found a US stockist who could deliver in 3 days, only if I had known it would take Ford UK so long I would have just ordered it myself, thats hindsight for you.

Gibbo

have you ever considered the 2016 Ford Mustang GT ROUSH Supercharged 670 HP and do you think it's a good buy

No and no.

Roush just doing what every owner does, they take a Mustang GT and then modify it, stick a Roush badge on it and then sell it for a huge premium.

Roush are not doing a single thing you cannot do yourself and even more so you can do it yourself better as you will build the exact car you want, plus I dislike the Roush styling.

You also have to remember that though both Ford and Roush are listed as independent companies they both work extremely close together and share parts. For instance Roush / FRPP 670HP and 727HP supercharger kits are both the exact same kit, just with a different badge.

In fact both Ford, FRPP and Roush buildings in USA are actually next to each other, so they wheel a Ford GT out of Ford, straight into the Roush building.

The advantage is for US customers is they can buy a Roush car from a Ford dealership with 727HP, coilover suspension and it still comes with a full 3yr warranty and insane performance, well its a 10s quarter mile car as it comes of the forecourt for about 50k USD and it will hand a Hellcat its ass in a straightline and totally embarrass it when the corners come along.

But for me personally there is no attraction, I dislike the styling and all the parts Roush fit/change are available to buy and to be honest I would not use any of the parts they use, though their coilover suspension is actually built by KW. ;)

i just looked at the reviews on Youtube, the 2016 shelby GT350R is considered superior, a much better track car too.

i've seen 3 Roushes within my budget, but the reviewer wasn't so keen on its handling

I think the clue is right at the start of the video, 275 square setup on Falken tyres and its owned by a professional drifter.

Shelby GT350 runs 305 rears and 295 fronts wearing Michelin Super Sports, that alone will transform handling.

Shelby GT350R runs 315 rears and 305 fronts wearing Michelin cup 2 tyres which are super sticky.

Shelby also uses smaller vastly lighter 19" wheels, R wheels are carbon fiber and 350's have two-piece disc all round. This along is a whopping 60kg saving in unsprung mass, that has a dramatic effect on handling.

In short fit 19" or 20" lightweight wheels with 295/305 section rears and 275/285 fronts using a decent tyre like MPSS and it would be transformed.

To be frank don't buy a Roush car, they are just marketing excercise now for Roush and more about trim level, bodykits or horsepower figures. They don't do anything to make the cars handle really nice. Shelby GT 350 is a car built by Ford to perform and handle, the engineers got their way, not the sales or marketing people and that is why it is so bloody good. Roush ah I have got to say it, absolute JUNK!

yea i deleted the Roush links in my bookmark 1/2 an hour before reading your post......but the GT350 and R are both above my budget, never mind.
