**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge Thread ****

Argh! I've dropped my S7 Edge and the power button is half stuck in. Can't get it out. The phone works fine but I can't turn it on/off. Think I'll need to phone samsung re: a repair :(

Are you using the phone while trying to QC?
I find my car QC 3 is similar if GPS, screen, data, etc etc is all on with screen bright.

I know it's working as it goes up about 40% with same charger normally

Out of interest, does anyone have any view, or indeed experience, in "upgrading" from the S6 edge plus to the S7 edge?
My contract is running out soon and I was all set for just going Sim Only but there are some decent deals out there for the S7 edge.
I put upgrading in quotation marks as I don't see an obvious upgrade here. Yes the expandable storage and waterproofing is a good thing but ultimately I'm worried about the decrease in screen size.

I'm not too interested in the note 7 as the s pen probably wouldn't get much use and I'd imagine the pricing will be sky high.

Maybe deals for S7 range will fall when note is released??

Personally I wouldn't. But then I keep my phones 2 or 3 years.
What attracted me to s7 edge was it's battery, camera (pixel size is huge), and waterproofing (as I like water sports)

Sometimes when switching between tabs, the one I select will stay blank and not load, so I have to close that tab and re open it, this a common problem?

This is still happening, when I go from tab to tab, they don't load.

Use Ampere to find out what the rate of charge is. This is almost certainly not kicking in with fast charge.

I'll try ampere and see what it says. I wasn't using the phone but did have a load of apps running, once I got home and used a different cable it charged within an hour from 12% so I've thrown that cable away.

Anyone else have 'Mediaserver' draining their battery? It seems to be using nearly 50% of mine...and I can't seem to find a way of getting rid of it. Been happening for about 4/5 days now.

I have googled and most places say maybe a corrupt media file on the sd card, but I have deleted all the media I downloaded within the last couple of weeks and still the same.

Do you have any pictures on the phone? Go through them and see if any display just black. On my Huawei I found a couple of random pictures taken on the phone becoming corrupt to be the problem.

This has just started happening to me in the last day or so. I've removed the SD card to see if that resolves. It's gone down from 100% to 44% by 12pm (normally its about that level at 6pm after being used fairly heavily).

^ Removed the SD card and that has stopped the drain... so I'll give it a format tonight and start re-adding stuff back on.

I can see why Google don't like SD cards though as I've had a few issues with these in the past.

Just hit me strangely enough at around the same time.

I know this will have been asked loads of times (but I can't find the answer !).....but what screen protector are people going for ?

I'm looking at a Spigen Liquid Crystal case, so something that will go with that.

Hope this is posted in the right place, i bought my mum a galaxy s7 when they first came out from the samsung website. Everything has been fine till tonight when she wanted me to install the national lottery app i was telling her about. It seemed to install fine and just needed permission for camera and storage as it scans the qr codes on the tickets. I left her with the app open half an hour later she rings me on the house phone saying her phones not working. So i go back round, she had turned it off panicking so i turned it back on everything seemed to be fine, but once youve been into a app or press a button it goes back to the setting menu. even if you tap on options on the settings menu it goes back to the setting menu and the more stuff you try to tap onto the quicker it goes to the settings menu. Its as if its stuck in some sort of loop to the settings menu. I did manage to uninstall the lottery app and run a avira virus scan but these didnt help any. Anyone any ideas?

Can you get into Smart manager? Perhaps a cache clean and RAM clear might do it?
A reboot doesn't clear the RAM.

I guess ultimately a factory reset would be the last resort option.
