No Man's Sky - Procedural space game

ROFL.

Just about sums it up. Though I've not seen the on-land spaz fish. Also that huge thing with tiny wings, which is able to fly...lol

Also, it crashes on PC too. Still yet to see a patch on PC either.

I'm going to try for a refund, its literally not as advertised and I feel like the fact that I enjoy it shouldn't detract from the fact that game devs shouldn't lie.

I tried for refund but got rejected Boycey. I stated even though I had played more than the 2 hours in policy, that the product was nowhere near what was promised and talked about and believed this was total false advertising.
Also explained the ridiculously bad optimisation in the game, sub 60fps is not acceptable for such an ugly game and clearly a lazy ps4 direct port with no thought for me as a pc gamer etc.

You can all but try though mate.

I tried & got the same answer. Bit gutted really, don't want to play it as I don't want to be accepting a product that isn't what they showcased. So I've got a 40 quid waste of SSD space(until I uninstall it, that is).

Then it should be priced like every other indie game surely?

If it was around £20 then they probably would have made more money in the long run, less people would bother refunding £20 and the price would accurately reflect the amount of content actually in the game.

£40 is a stupid price for this game but dev/publishers only care about pre-orders nowadays...

I don't hate this game outright, I just feel like it's not worth the £40 price tag.

I tried to get a refund despite playing more than 2 hours (I forgot to close it and went afk, racked up 3 hours alone doing that!) and was naturally denied on that. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens with this game.

Considering it's Hello Games only game right now I feel it will be supported well and will hopefully end quite close to what they actually envisaged.

I have a job interview tomorrow though and it helps me relax.

I gotta say though, all this drama is thoroughly entertaining. And one thing is undeniable - that 65dos soundtrack is the stuff of legends. If one aspect of this game's existance has been worth it, that soundtrack is that aspect. So freaking good.

Is gold that much of a deal? I found 3 columns about that size of it within the first hour of playing but not really got a use for it yet.

You can get a good price for it. Better when you have a planet with those small crystals that contain gold or other precious elements.

Found my first planet with lakes and water creatures in them yesterday including loads of small fish and a few much larger carnivores.

I also came across a river where lots of animals had accumulated.

Well it's not their first game, they also made the Joe Danger mobile games.

Good luck on your interview.

Wow Sean has aged a lot.

Also really sorry to hear that EVH5150.

Yer, we tried to get a refund, but by that point I had already played between 3-4 hours, I've tried to get into it but its just so lacking in content and boring as hell, if I knew it was on GOG I would have pointed him in that direction.

The difference between trailers and actual gameplay is pretty striking. That planet with the dinosaurs and lots of animals looked beautiful.

I'm glad I didn't buy it and ** No piracy talk - EVH ** for a while instead (already uninstalled). Got to my second planet and it looked very much like the first, including the colour palette, and was equally barren.

Maybe things pick up later on but I don't have the time to put up with abysmal performance, yet alone shell out for it like for a full AAA title. I had high hopes for this game but it's a tremendous disappointment IMO.

Well I'm still loving it ...

BUT...

E3 trailers that show any game whatsoever to be something other than it actually is should be legally binding. You dont watch a film trailer and see a worse film, so why is this acceptable with games?

I've watched the E3 trailers for this in 2014, 2015 and 2016 back to back and bearing in mind E3 2016 was only 2 months ago, the end result compared to what was promised is ridiculous.

I'm enjoying it, but I feel like I could be enjoying it so much more. This really is borderline false advertising. I'm aware of how much peoples hype might have got the better of them, I wasn't one of them which is why I feel like I'm still enjoying it, I refused to watch any trailers or spoilers before it was released.

Even though I'm enjoying it I think Sean Murray has a huge amount of questions to answer, and he isn't bothered about it in the slightest. Forget whatever was mentioned about multiplayer, where the hell is the kid of life and space battles that were offered up in the trailers? Where are the sand planets? What about the AI?

I never got suckered into that poor Alien game a few years ago but I did so with NMS. I was not going to buy it but I had become bored with gaming and wanted to try something new. Having said that I have now got VFM and I have topped 40 hours in game:)

Thanks for the well wishing and thanks for the information. I don't really game on mobiles so I didn't know they had made others.

I am still hopeful. Apparently they brought in a QA team that's bigger than the rest of their team combined to help get it sorted. Why they didn't bring these people in 6 months ago baffles me but at least it's a step in the right direction.

Reading the reddit post about NMS is pretty shocking, Specially when some stuff was only said a month ago.

I assume Sony forced there hand on all of this maybe.
