NEARLY 2 YEARS WAITING: New Mustang GT PP is finally mine!

Andy Barratt MD of Ford was mailed weeks ago and social is now started but only at stage 1, which is where it shall remain for now. If all goes well then I shall back off, if they somehow screw this up further I am going to unleash hell on them, my job position and contacts in the market mean making some noise is very easy and I am owed a few favours. :)

Hopefully will not come to that, hoping the dealership will sort this to my satisfaction.

As I have said I am going through similar issues with Audi, though to be fair my issues do not impact me like yours. Hope you get it fixed.

Wheels do look great ...... hmmmm perhaps I should have mine done as my paint work is the same colour as yours :) ....

Despite all the hassle with a dealer I wouldn't consider chucking a car in.... why should you be denied what you like and want for the sake of a few Muppets with spanners.

The MD of Bristol SM needs to be involved and Ford of Europe...... Suggest to them you take it down to Dunton in Essex and want the boys in the workshop to look at it ?

It's basically a good company, I've worked for them and a supplier to them, and gained more respect for them as result of it..... the dealers are the weak link in the chain....getting the message to the right people is possibly the biggest hurdle.

I've just fallen out with our local dealer for SEAT, sales thought they were going to rip us off by 2-3K with some underhand sales techniques..... seems where ever you go hassle is there to be found.... That said my Volvo dealer was quite good and the car excellent.

Ford have kindly taken a deposit from me for a Ranger. Arranged finance all based on delivery in four weeks to now be told it might be Christmas. Might as well wait for the amarok

It is appalling how bad some dealers are. It astonishes me how bad they are in this day and age of social and online reviews. My advice is go elsewhere as actions like this are the act of a dealer taking the Michael.

The only dealer who has never messed up for me is my local Honda dealership.

My BMW Mottorad experience was and still is a joke in comparison.

Let's hope Ford sort it out for you this time, I would be spitting feathers at a 2 month turn around.

Only Ford dealership that I hold in high regard is Tarnock. They were excellent when they did my cam timing from start to finish. If I need anything big doing i will take it there. They're also the closest Mountune Pro dealer to me.

What a shambles Gibbo...7 weeks...

Same, Tarnock do all the work on my ST.

When the oil diaphragm went I even limped the car all the way up the M5 to them as I know they'll do a good job fixing it.

Looks perfect too me. The wheel colour suits so much better than the stock silver colour.

Did you ever get round to ordering the red taillights (i.e. USA style)?

Hi there

Decided to install the PMAS coolant bracket so it was done and out the way tonight and checked my FRPP oil seperator as the car has done nearly 4500 miles and I have never checked it, seems it has caught quite a bit of oil indeed:

That is quite a bit.

The only dealer who has never messed up for me is my local Honda dealership.

My local Honda dealer (Holdcroft Stoke) took my S2000 for a 8-9k razz down the main road when they were just repairing the roof. I only know as they came past where I work about 50mph (could hear it a mile off, complete HKS breathing and exhaust sounded awesome). They got a RIGHT rant from me and I've never used them since. I'd have thrown the service guy through one of their nice plate glass windows if he'd have ****ed me off just a *tad* more ;) :D

They'll never get another penny off me :)

The wheel colour is just perfect for your car Gibbo! I didn't really dig the standard wheels but for such a subtle change it has made a massive improvement!

Hope you get sorted pronto with your oil cooler, what a nightmare.

Cheers buddy, gotta say MPSS are epic, can actually launch the car in 1st gear now with little to no spin, had to try just once, but am keeping my speeds sub 60mph whilst its got a leak. Dip stick is still on maximum so its small leak but enough to make quite a mess on the underside of the car.

Cable tie a suitable tray to catch the oil until you get it resolved. Btw you don't really have a fire risk unless the oil is dripping onto a red hot manifold, exhaust temperatures aren't typically hot enough to ignite oil.

Love the wheel colour Gibbo. I'm so gutted for you with the issues you're having with Ford. It really takes the shine of the ownership experience when the dealers are crap.
Ford really need to up their game if they want to start playing in the premium space.

The garage who confirmed the leak (not Ford), did say because oil could go onto catalyst the fire risk is minimal and to get it back there you'd need to be doing some speed and it would need to be quite a critical failure of the part that mean oil was rushing out extremely quick at which point it could then indeed be a fire risk. But the small amounts it is leaking are just making a mess and not so nice smell when car is stationery.

Well most Ford dealers of social this today:
http://www.tch.co.uk/news/ford-mustang/

Britains number 1 selling sports car with 250BHP and more.

Trust me the temptation to be replying on them all saying how lousy service is is tempting, but lets wait, I have a meeting with dealer principal at 10:30am, lets see if he sorts this mess out and offers me some form of compensation.

Hi there

So I visited Bristol Street Ford Stoke-on-Trent today and met with Dominic the new service manager. He was excellent in short, apologetic and they got my car up on the ramps immediately. Though this time the car decided to be a royal pain in the backside and refused to leak, it took 30 minutes of idling and revving to get a slight weap from the cooler, but the mechanics could see signs of a leak from oil residue.

So car fully cleaned, gave me 1l of free oil to top up with and they stuck 250ml back in the car to bring up to maximum mark. Part is ordered and they will apply pressure on how urgent it is. They also replaced the puddle lamp on the spot and were also happy to let me take and do myself, but when I told them how easy it was they did it anyway and low and behold it was a 60s job. :)

They will come back to me with a time for delivery on the part and moment it arrives they will do the job again along with another free service (just more fresh oil) with me witnessing.

Both the dealership and Ford have agreed that once the car is finally fixed, I am happy and they are happy I am happy they will then discuss compensation.

So lets see they have a real opportunity to turn this around now, lets hope they do, but as it is I can drive the car, I can hoon the car, I will just keep a very close eye on the oil level and get the car on my mates ramp weekly until they get the part, but I am hoping the part will come pretty quick this time.

What I will say about Ford and the dealer ship, they are very modification friendly.

Keeping fingers crossed. :)

Funny how a little bit of pressure can turn it around for a possible good result. Hope they help you a lot better this time round.

It is a shame that all before had to occur for this step in the right direction to happen, unfortunately this is classic Ford from my personal experience.

The metal valve stems on the ST / RS are a classic example of Ford and their dealers inability to realise who the customer is.

Air leaks past the valve stem, not the valve, mostly due to poor design but also corrosion against the alloy.
You cannot drop off wheels to be fixed under warranty, they need the whole car. They will not supply courtesy cars as these must be booked well in advance, they will not fit normal rubber valve stems as this is not a warranty replacement but will allow you to pay if you like, but then will not offer further warranty! Had five trips before things settled down, even the service manger was embarrassed by it in the end, part number was revised 4 times too causing ordering chaos. I only managed a free service out of them too :(

Ford do make good cars, great cars for me, but fail to recognise what the customers need when it comes to making things right when issues crop up unless you push like hell
