NEARLY 2 YEARS WAITING: New Mustang GT PP is finally mine!

Had a call back with update from dealership, gaskets are ordered, with an arrival for next Tuesday and they shall re-fit them to my car that same day with me present. :)

Saw a ruby red the other night, looked awesome in the night with the rear lights lit up. Shame it was the ecoboost and sounded a bit pants. Still left me for dust at the traffic lights though...

Mine literally sounds like a T-rex roaring now after a modification I fitted couple of days ago. :D

What I will say about Ford and the dealer ship, they are very modification friendly.

Keeping fingers crossed. :)

By the sounds of it that's probably because they don't have the faintest clue about what they're looking at anyway :p

Fingers crossed they'll finally sort it and offer some half decent compensation of being utterly useless.

Wow!

Just had a call from Dominic gaskets have arrived and they want me and the car 9am tomorrow, they are gonna try to sort me an RS for a couple of hours, then come back at 10-11am and witness them install new gaskets.

Looking good, amazing how one person can make a difference when they take ownership of a problem. :)

Don't go all soft on us! You still need to kick ass and take names if it doesn't go exactly perfectly.

Of course, but they know my feelings, I don't need to keep raging, now is there chance to turn things round and so far so good.

Gotta keep a somewhat calm approach, if you keep hammering people down and insulting them, then they just think your an idiot and are only helping you because they have to, not because they want too.

I'd rather the dealership respect me and like me, end of the day they are working on your car and I certainly do not want them hating me.

New guy, he knows what happened, he has the chance to turn things round, looks good on him, good for dealership and gets me out of Ford's hair. End of the day so far he is clearly pushing to get the gaskets so quick.

Simple fact is I can watch them do the install, if its all done correct and still leaks then it is no error of theirs but an error of Ford and they will have to replace the entire oil cooler, gaskets and adapter plate next if seals do not do the trick, which they should.

Great news they are getting them so quick. Have you asked them for a copy of the workshop manual and ensuring all bolts are torqued to the correct specs?

Gibbo, did you replace the clutch assist spring with a lighter one, or just remove it completely? I hated the feel of the clutch pedal on my test drives so much that it almost put me off the car.

I removed it to begin with which improves it a lot, but does make the pedal heavy. I then fitted the Steeda clutch spring, perfect with that.

The stock car I found very hard to pull of and hard to do smooth gear changes as the clutch has zero feel from factory due to the assist spring they use, really does spoil the drive.

Hi there

So visited Ford today, car up on ramp, bone dry underneath, took for hard drive and left running, still bone dry.
Car has self healed, this leads me to believe new gaskets were fitted dry and not greased up. They gave me the option of leave as it is and they will happily re-check and keep the parts there or we can just fit the new gaskets anyway and risk disturbing things and be back to square one.

For now I've decided to leave as is, the leak has stopped, the smell has gone and all seems well. They said if it shows any sign just bring it in and they will sort it straight away as they will keep the gaskets on-site. :)
Ford as goodwill gesture has give me their premium 3yr service / breakdown cover pack, so the next three years services will be free and I will have breakdown cover and recovery. Worth around £1000 so a pretty decent offer which I of course took.

Back to enjoying the car again now and my god is it loud and quick with the new intake system I've fitted. :D

Good to hear its back out and being enjoyed.

Nice little gesture by them for all of the problems you've had with this issue.

Yes, I found going into 2nd especially was hard to do smoothly. Made me feel like a bit of a numpty to be honest. Will definitely be ordering the Steeda clutch spring when the car arrives.
