Finally got around to putting up the curtain rail in the study. In related news the blade on my mitre saw is blunt.
Also I put some loctite on the grub screw that holds the top of the kitchen tap on. The damn thing keeps backing out for some reason.

not bad for less than £10 on the log and some tapping coach bolts (plank was kicking around the garden).

Mine was wrapped in sisal string
(It was for indoors so couldn't get away with your "rustic" design).Post was 2 pieces of CLS my neighbour scrounged nailed together. Base was a shelf from an old Hi Fi cabinet I dismantled covered with an old doormat.
- String - £1.00
- Duct tape - £0.40
- Screws - £0.30
- Total cost - £1.70
Cost about £35 in the shops.
Neighbour says the cat went straight for it as soon as she set it down.

What zoo is that? I can't stand it when they have cats caged up.
Put some lights up outside. Digging under the path with a pvc pipe and a lot of water was good fun...
We're still not sure if they're in the right place or if we need some more. If we want more lights we have to buy a new transformer because I foolishly bought the smallest one.

Changed the lock in the front door. A few keys for the old lock have gone missing (given out to people on a temporary basis and not returned) so I've bought a new Ultion lock and installed it.
Finally replaced the mortice lock on the garage door. Levers fell in around 2.5 years ago 
and had either been 'jimmying' it or just using the up & over.
10 minute job but just 'one of those' things that takes forever to get around to doing.
Had to chop a little of the recess as the previous lock had a rounded fascia rather than rectangular.
Much better than the POS that it replaced

Changed a flat tyre for the spacesaver.Local garage wanted £130 for a new tyre,went to blackcircles and got a fitted price at the same garage of £42 for a budget tyre.

Better than what was there before at least...but where there's a will, there's a way.
Surely a slick/turbo tyre would be better suited?
Can't imaging riding my turbo with an MTB tyre!
Nothing much other than cleaning. Needed to replace hose. Was going to buy one of those expandable hoses but smallprint said not compatible with pressure washer. I've just come home with this mini patio set. It's really dinky with a narrower hose than normal. £10.
Bought a hasp & staple too for the new shed.
