Yeah, Sidewinder myself and Kiwi were on last night. I'll send you another link this evening if you need one.

I've been thinking about the specialist classes and wondered if it was possible to exploit the tanker class to get an invincible tank...

-Squad mate spawns on tank with multiple seats (gets assigned as tanker class), and then switches to a different seat.
-Another squad mate spawns on the tank, Do they get the driver's seat? Does this make the a tanker too?

If it was possible you could get a heavy tank with all five members of a squad in it each of whom have a repair hammer. Try stopping that tank..

haha, that sounds ace!! We all know how it goes down in BF4 eh...with a lot of shells :D

This is an interesting watch:

Semantics - doesn't matter if the problem is random or probability - if there is a problem there picking apart the terms used to describe it is about as helpful as getting worked up by people using the term "netcode".

"Casual" (or any other design intention) gun mechanics can cross the line where they take a lot of skill out of the equation if there isn't a certain amount of low level dependableness - if there is too much non-intuitive, random or predictable deviation in the basic mechanics it can feel very unsatisfying to play for anyone that isn't super casual regardless of the design intention.

(He can talk about bursting v mag dumping all he likes but with the inconsistent and meh "netcode" in BF games I consistently get better results mag dumping at most ranges and infact burst and reset will just see me dead despite what the on paper numbers might say).

After about 6+ hours I'm really enjoying BF1 much more.
Objective Charlie in conquest after 15 minutes into the game is such a fun point to battle around. After the surround buildings and landscape have been pounded to bits by aircraft bombs, tank shells, and grenades, the area truly feels like a warzone!

There are craters to hide in everywhere and the dynamic weather, environment and gas grenades make it feel really gritty. I just love the way the environment changes around you over time, molding the battlefield to pulp

I wish I had ShadowPlay running because I had one the best kodak moments last night in which a fighter was swooping in to shoot me and fellow ground troops but clipped the top of a building by objective B and took out a top portion of it's wall sending all the bricks flying onto us as he swooped just over our heads :D :D

Thats actually one of my favourite things in the game, I thought it was so cool the first time I fired and made a crater and then one of my teammates leapt into it to use it as cover.

Wow he lays into Xfactor.

I thought it amusing he cut to a segment to prove a point about aim where they were using AEK and Magnum which are some of the easiest weapons to get kills with (albeit the trigger delay on the Magnum can take a bit of adjusting for) - I was regularly managing 400-600m kills with the Magnum when playing with it due to it generally landing around on target if you were half ok aiming with it.

What's the price of bf1 at its lowest digital floss?...... download, nice suggested word silly phone.

Having put a fair bit of time into the beta, I will definitely be getting this game - just the base version, however. No matter how much I like a game I refuse to pay the extortionate rates they are charging for premium etc.

I don't see a great problem with the weapons at the moment bar the recon class getting 100 points of damage to the body.

I am sure I've watched videos of this guy ripping into other well known you tubers in the past, to be honest he comes across as someone who is a little salty of others success and is probably trying to gain more viewers by being controversial. That being said he may have a couple of valid points, however there is no doubt in my mind that the SMG's and LMG's need to be improved in some way to match the other classes.

Lost me at "a perfectly accurate gun, like a bolt action" .... :/

I think he means that in the game, the bolt action rifles do not have a first shot spread multiplier. This means, apart from the bullet drop, the bullet actually goes where you fire it. Guns which suffer a first shot spread penalty will fire a bullet somewhere within a cone (which expands over distance), with none, the cone is a straight tube..

He certainly has a way with his words. I don't think he's trying to be liked, he's trying to lay down the facts as he and the symthic community see them. They tend to use actual game data and calculations rather than battlefeels to come to their conclusions..

Take for instance their analysis of the BF1 guns from the source code..
http://symthic.com/games/bf1/beta-weapon-charts.php

In BF4, battlelog completely lied about the differences between each weapon, and gave you no information whatsoever on the key mechanic in BF which is spread. If you chose your weapon based on whether battlelog said it was a better weapon you were in for a surprise.
They went further to produce data like the TTK of weapons at each range (and at different server tick rates), although a lot of people miss used that data as the theory of which weapon has the lowest TTK assumes you land every shot, so the weapons with the best TTK were always the ones which you could land the shots with or just fired so quickly you were bound to get enough hits.

Despite what he says there is a design doc somewhere that I keep meaning to dig out again by a very well regarded game developer that breaks down how gun mechanics should be implemented to maintain the maximum room for skill, not inaccessible for new/casual players and rewarding to play with when you get it right which make a lot of sense and way too often ignored by game developers (including Dice) - also goes into ways to balance weapons without resorting to nasty random/probability based "solutions".

floss haha. I think one reason why there are so many snipers at the moment is because a fair amount of people do not like playing with iron sights. I think when the other weapons get sights it will reduce the volume of snipers :)

Just hope dedicated servers that are rented by clans get procon support. Dice has been trying to kill that off since bf3 and bf4 :(
