There's a Lepin thread on PistonHeads forum and a few have bought the Falcon and don't appear to have had problems.
I'm tempted by the creator building sets but not sure where I'll put them.

Even my Bricklink'd Falcon cost about £600.
Confession time. I already have the SSD and Porsche.
SSD box is a bit flimsy but the Porsche box feels quality. Pieces look a little more shiny than Lego. SSD doesn't look like its all there but we'll find out soon enough.
hard to tell from your picture but this is someone from piston heads with his Lepin SSD. for a sense of scale, the pages of the instructions are A3 supposedly

if they price people out then they will go for this. it then becomes a spiral.
I have no interest in making money from a UCS set. so many people buy it for that. I just want to build it and display it with the rest of my set. I am priced out of doing so, thus i sought out an alternative.

All my Lego is genuine apart from the Super Star Destroyer I just received. I've spend A LOT of money on genuine UCS sets!! My issue is the sets that are retired and now cost far too much. I really enjoy building the 3000+ piece sets which is why I also plan to buy the Lepin version of the Millennium Falcon. If the Lego version was still available at RRP I'd jump at the chance, but it isn't.

I can't believe they use they're own brand name but keep the red Lego box.
I can understand people wanting the retired sets, but this isn't Legos problem. How do we know they aren't tied up with various legal ip stuff that means they can't make them? Lenin don't pay for any of the rights or anything and are just ripping Lego of completely. Of course they can make it far cheaper when they aren't spending anything on marketing, brand rights and design. I know Lego is expensive but at the same time it's a quality product and it's no different to any other business.
I'd love to buy one of these copycat ucs sets but I don't think I could bring myself to do it. I think I'd feel dirty and kind of just add to the problem they are creating.. :0 I wouldn't want to water down my Lego collection with second rate bricks either. I got some walking dead mini fig knock offs for a project I was doing and they are terrible terrible quality. I think there should be an unofficial Lego thread for this stuff.

It doesn't say official Lego but then again this isn't Lego... So your point doesn't really stand.
High horse is a bit harsh. These companies only exist because of Legos existence. If Lego wasn't about they'd have no one to copy... They are purely rip off merchants and only get a way with it because they are based in China and China doesn't care. Yes people say Lego is expensive and to be honest it probably could be a bit cheaper. However like I've already said they have to buy the rights, research stuff, pay designers etc etc. I'm pretty sure that isn't cheap and it gets passed down like it does in any other business.
I probably spent more on this fake lego than most people do on real sets!
My only issue is with people charging £4k for a set on ebay. I also am only interested in the star wars stuff.
My mistake was not buying these two sets when i could. I wont make that mistake again.
Thats my personal circumstance. Others obviously do think Lego is too expensive or they wouldn't buy say the Technics Porsche which is still out.
While i would always prefer to buy the real deal others may not be able to afford it.
I mentioned this to a few friends one of which said he would buy the Sandcrawler and Ewok village if he could have them cheaper.
As long as there is a brand their will be counterfeits its always been the case.
