That penalty isn't going to help the relationship of Vettel and Max, as the latter now finishes ahead of him. I'd love to see them in the same team. Imagine them competing against one another. Would be glorious. Reminiscent of Senna/Prost.
 
Max is s bit cheeky and is pushing his luck, he got the penalty so it's done.

Vettel's behaviour over the radio was disgusting, you'd expect more maturity from a driver of his experience and all the seems to do is whine constantly and it's getting boring.

The other incidents were about gaining an advantage, this one was about more than that and hence if Max was penalised for his move then Vettel absolutely had to be too.

Given vettels treatment by the red bull I don't blame him. I suspect in the heat of the moment most would do the same. Max has pulled much more dangerous moves and has gotten away with it.

Seems to be the red bull effect. Vettel has grown on me considerably, ricciardo and Max have gone down in my estimation.

Boring? It was the only entertaining part of the race :p
 
I think when Rosberg wins the championship this year he and Hamilton will be friends again. Rosberg said earlier in an interview this year that Hamilton is probably the better driver and on his day Rosberg struggles to match him. Maybe by winning the title Rosberg can finally say he's a world champion, something no one can take from him. So much like Button it won't matter if he never gets another one, because he did get one and can call himself a world champion. I reckon it will be a huge weight off his shoulders.

The good thing for us too is that Hamilton seems to be in the whatever happens happens mode and is racing well as he knows all he can do is come third and hope for the best? Hopefully the last two races are more interesting than yesterdays though. (The bit in the middle rather than the beginning and the end. :D)

In other news Max has to be really careful now as other teams will be gunning for him and jumping on any little mistake he makes. Imagine he decides the title race one way or another by an accident!?! Back to TR you go... :o

Vettel will probably be punished for his foul mouth on the radio.

I like max. He is not scared of anyone. He is a superb racing driver.

I agree, I don't think Hamilton is fussed. He knows he has done all he can, he can't do anything about reliability. He still has 3 championships and his lifestyle. Rosberg seems much more chilled too. It could be even more dull if they start getting along :p

It would be better for Mercedes too, especially if other teams catch them next season. Both drivers have championships and would be more willing to play the team game.

Its ok, rather than the Nico vs Lewis we have now we will have Max vs Everyone instead... :cool::D

Exactly. As I noted earlier, when this happened in LMP2 at Fuji, the race director simply came over the radio ordering the place to be given back.

That's what should have happened here and immediately. It would have been the right thing to do and avoided all the subsequent fall out.

Stewards should be reserved for very contentious issues only. Anything blinding obvious like gaining an advantage from going off-track should be rectified simply and immediately by the race director/controller.
 
Part of me wants Vettel to get a racing penalty for his language towards the race end, but at the same time, if the Ferrari is capable of mixing it with Redbull and Mercedes I'd prefer it to be a fine.

I think Max is starting to act like a mini Vettel, both have talent, but sometimes lack action and vocal tact.

It should be a big fine for the driver. He's now 5th anyway since his punishment and moving him to 6th with say a 30 second penalty would only put him behind Kimi anyway. (Not hurting Ferrari.) You can't talk like that and get away with it. They need to set a precedent otherwise other drivers will end up doing the same...
 
Race penalty I was thinking of was a grid one for at least the next race, or even a race ban.
 
They chose to broadcast the message. It's their own fault if it looks bad. I think nothing more than a fine should happen. I'd prefer if the radio comms were private for messages like this. It's clearly just venting frustration to his engineer. It's not a message to the world.
 
I think Ham and ros will finally kiss and makeup and be best mates again after ros wins. Both need to be humble and not make there friendship be ruined.

Im all for roseberg to win the Title tbh. dont mind now
