That turned out to be one of the most boring races of the season. I gave it a 4/10. What a bloody disgraceful farce the podium was. First Verstappen was 3rd then Vettel then 3 hours later Ricciardo. What a joke.

Ferrari needs to fit Vettels car with a PA system, maybe a megaphone in the airbox. All the people he's shouting at will be able to hear him then.

Given vettels treatment by the red bull I don't blame him. I suspect in the heat of the moment most would do the same. Max has pulled much more dangerous moves and has gotten away with it.

Seems to be the red bull effect. Vettel has grown on me considerably, ricciardo and Max have gone down in my estimation.

So because of this its less dangerous when Vettel did it yesterday than Max did it earlier in the season?

Surely being the older and wiser driver Vettel should be being "doubly clean" rather than reverting to the old tactics (that have since been banned)

Everything from SV looked childish yesterday

He did look like a baby throwing his toys out of the pram.

What treatment, driving a race? Boo hoo.

You've decided to attack Max for not moving over when no rule stipulates he had to, you're excusing Vettel for a very dangerous and unsportsmanlike move saying that Max has done worse and that all drivers would do what he did. In which incident did Max cause contact several times or cause a driver to lock up fully to avoid a contact, none?

Vettel aggressively changed significantly across the track causing Ricciardo to have to lock up hard to attempt to avoid a crash and still had a few separate bits of contact.

If you want to defend Vettel, fine, but you are attacking Max over rules you still don't understand after having them explained to you, you are insanely saying Vettel did nothing other drivers wouldn't and you're having a pop at Ricciardo as well... exactly what did he do wrong? stuff happens on the track ahead of you, he can only drive for himself and his team, he had a chance to overtake and was blocked off in a way that was against the rules, how on earth can your estimation of him go down?

The actual reality is no, not all drivers would do what Vettel did, a few, those drivers are bad drivers who break the rules. Also in reality absolutely no driver would give up a podium position when not directed to by the stewards. If you think Vettel would have given up that position in Max's position you're completely nuts.

Yes, because max did it at the end of a DRS zone at top speed.

Point is there was no rule stopping max doing what he did, it was a gentlemans agreement that he choose to ignore which is fair enough. Vettel was one of the biggest critics of the manoeuvres yet when he was in that position and when there was a rule in place to stop it he choose to ignore the rule and do exactly what he'd accused Max of.

This exactly...Vettel is really dropping in my eyes. Always liked him but he is acting rather poorly at the moment. It looks to me that the new guard is coming forward and he is not coping with it, almost seems like the school bully picking on the new guy and then bitching loudest once found it.

It also seems to coincide with the Ferrari dropping down the grid too...

They haven't performed as they expected this year, they expected to be the ones challenging the Merc but it's been Red Bull. I like Vettel, he's one of my favourite drivers but it must be frustrating for an ex world champion being in that position but equally he should know better.

The FIA's inept handling of everything, stewards inconsistency and result change after the podium, mean this race is a 1.
It looks an amazing atmosphere, would be awesome to be there.

Everything that is wrong with F1 in one race though.
At least Vettel's radio comments were good to listen to. His message to Charlie was and still is spot on.

It doesn't bring the sport into disrepute. They wouldn't have played it on TV otherwise.
Pretty easy for all of us on our chairs to say he should have calmed down, but everyone here would be as raging as he was.

I guess he's not alone. Alonso and his move to McLaren hasn't turned out like he thought it would either... We'd probably be talking about his whinging if it weren't for Vettel usurping him.

What makes me laugh through all of this is that Max is only in this position because he's in the Red Bull and he's only in the Red Bull because Seb threw his toys out the pram about Kyvat's racing.. :o And then he got shafted by the rule that was created because of Max! You couldn't make it up... Lol

Vettel's punishment was nothing to do with on-track actions, it was a slap on the wrist for being so horribly rude to Charlie!

Whats the engine situation for ROS going into the last two? Is he re-using units, and if so, which ones?

Vettel being sent to the podium was purely so he could publicly be stripped of the 3rd place, demotion from 3rd is much higher profile than 4th :D

Regarding Kvyat being demoted, I think they were looking for any excuse to get rid of him, and his bad race was reason enough. I doubt Vettel's complaining influenced it at all. They were desperate to lock Max into a Red Bull car and knew there was a possibility of him being tempted away from Toro Rosso.

Vettel and Verstappen both at Ferrari was probably on the cards at one point.
