My gear VR has been shipped. Looking forward to giving this a tryout.

I missed the offer but managed to pick one up from the O2 store with 50% off through the O2 app.

Even at £40 I didn't think it was worth keeping and returned it after a week.

Everything was too pixelated and a lot of the 360 VR videos were difficult to watch. Only good stuff was some of the 3D art in the VR photos app.

There were overheating messages after just 30 mins use, no games, just browsing youtube etc. And this was with the cover off. There is a USB port on the Gear VR but the phone doesn't charge when in VR mode (at least that's what on screen message says) so you aren't able to use it if your battery is low.

A lot of the games were over £5 with poor reviews so didn't try any.

And I didn't like removing the phone from case to put in the Gear VR as I'm still waiting on a back skin to arrive. Was worried about scratching the back.

After noticing a few micro scratches on screen I decided to try a screen protector again, after reading people talking about the yootech wet applied ones picked on up, installed last night and put my sim into another handset, inititally I wasn't all that impressed, woke up this morning and there were still a couple of bubbles which I could only presume were caused by a spec of dust id left on the screen but now its pretty much perfect, so anyone looking for a screen protector the yootech gets a big thumbs up from me.

Tried the Yootech after reading this and after a day of waiting for liquid to dry and bubbles disappear it looks great. I don't usually have much luck with the non-glass protectors and at first I thought I has messed this up. It looked terrible yesterday evening and this morning but nearly 24 hours later it's barely noticeable. If you weren't looking for it you wouldn't know there was a protector on there.

Just out of curiosity what does the acronym BTU stand for? My phone originally shipped with this but I loaded the EE ROM on instead to get access to wifi calling and VoLTE.

Mine was the same too, only noticed it when I went to check manually after seeing Cosimo's post. :/

So I replaced the dbrand carbon skin on the back with the matte black one, I actually prefer the carbon :/

Matte:

Carbon:

The matte is just too plain/boring, and shows light scratches from nails easily..

I think I'll order the Hyperblack Titanium one and see what that is like.

There's more texture in the skins compared to the glass of the un-skinned back panel, so yes in that regard, but if you have have dry hands, then the glass back is more slippery compared to moisturised hands.

I suppose I could use the matte as a chalk board? :p

Yea I would be interested to hear your thoughts on the titanium as well. Wanting to get one for my 5x but I didn't like the feel of the carbon fibre :/

I decided to go the black leather route instead of black titanium :o

I had the black leather on the Z5. Decided to go with black carbon with white carbon for camera for the S7E. Z5 is now sold so won't be able to do a direct comparison when the new skin arrives but the leather did feel nice.

The leather skin did shrink after a few week use, have a case open with dbrand. The Z5 used to heat up a lot which could have caused the skin to shrink, haven't noticed the S7E getting hot yet.
