**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge Thread ****

With the beta on the S6 how long was it between the beta and the final release? I'm not interested in doing the beta but just wondered if it gives an indication of when Nougat will be rolled out.

Off the top of my head it was about 3 months I think, I cant remember to be honest. Even though it's a beta its all but ready, or at least it was on the s6, I think the beta was just to iron out the last wrinkles

How do you break the camera glass three times in a row? Once I can understand, accidents happen, but three? It's user error surely :/

I managed to smash the front screen on my S7 edge. Annoyingly, I didn't even drop it, headphone cable got caught on a bush and pulled the thing out of my pocket! Shows how slippery it is...

Anyway, where's best to get it fixed? I don't trust quick mobile fix after they destroyed my OnePlus One and I never got my money back and had to then buy the S7.

Thanks :)

Seen a great deal on a dual SIM S7 Edge for £456.

It's model number G935FD, which I think this is a SE Asian grey import.

What should I watch out for with this? Is it worth a punt?

Cheers,

Su

Oh no!

Prepare to spend £300 just for a screen!

Ebay item 142140439312

You could find someone to just change the glass, but it won't ever be the same. Most little shops won't use local glue to replace it as it's expensive and messy.
So they only glue the edges which will fail at around 2 to 6 months.

It's just better to use a genuine full screen unit as on ebay. GUARANTEES a perfect repair. .. one you could do yourself if you follow some simple youtube guides.

Good luck

Was it an overgrown bush from someone's garden coming across a footpath? Worth a try claiming on their home insurance?

You can claim damages from a dodgy footpath, the bush could have been causing an obstruction.

There's more texture in the skins compared to the glass of the un-skinned back panel, so yes in that regard, but if you have have dry hands, then the glass back is more slippery compared to moisturised hands.

I suppose I could use the matte as a chalk board? :p

I think the black you were on about getting is the one I have. Looks a bit like brushed metal. I like it.

Curious why you've not installed the bit around the camera lens. I didn't, then I did, and now I'm still not so sure I like it. I'm also convincing myself it's impacting the camera!

Cheers,
Will it work with a UK/ European sim? I know my UK unlocked handset states European sim only maybe those will only accept an Asian sim?

Installing the camera lens sticker makes it look tacky. I prefer my phone looking like it's not wearing a skin, like the back cover might just be cf/brushed metal/matte etc, and applying the camera lens sticker makes it blindingly obvious that it's a sticker. Cheapens the look :p
