I hope that this does not disappoint by being glossy with not much substance. Meanwhile we've been here before with the classic version:

Hmm... well that looked strangely flat and un-cinematic; kind of sterile. More BBC made for TV than Hollywood and IMAX.... but, maybe that is a good thing in some ways.

Its a long way off and some trailers really miss the mark, so benefit of the doubt for now...

Hmm the mrs is from Dunkerque.. and one of the skippers was trying to get a job with the film. Will need to ask if he actually got it on camera.. or was a equipment boat..

I'm gona call this one early as being crap.. Two Nolan brothers only one seems to produce decent screenplays. Christopher destroyed Interstellar with his love theme crap and Inception was a bit convoluted, Johnathon brought us memento, westworld person if interest and the better half of the dark Knight, undeniablely Christopher can direct, I just think he can't write for ****

All I'm hearing from people I know who are lucky enough to have seen it and on Twitter etc is how amazing the 5 min preview of this is which is apparently screening before the 70mm version of Rogue One in selected cinemas.

I'm now very confident this will be a brilliant war movie.

Not sure using Interstellar and Inception as examples is helping your argument. They're both outstanding films.

If there's one director that you can bank on making a great film, it's Nolan.

Inception and Interstellar are two of the best films ever made.

Westworld takes a huge dump on Inception for the layered, detailed story even if the ending it just good rather than the excellence it initially built - take away some of the actors and visuals, etc. of Inception and it would be a poor movie.

Interstellar is garbage it very nearly joined Kill Bill on my top ten **** films. It's simply because it's up its own arse whilst failing to actually live up to the hype. Awful story with a terrible ending.

Sorry to continue the 'Inception is crap' / 'no it isn't' debate in a thread about Dunkirk, but is it a great surprise that Westworld, a TV show spanning 10 episodes, manages more layering and detail than a single movie?

Anyway I'd agree about the 12A rating. Means they've dumbed down the violence to meet the certificate.

On the one had you have a point - on the other movies like The Matrix managed it - many people haven't even come close to scratching the surface of the layers in that one today heh.

The main point of that comment though was that Christopher Nolan is often hyped up but a lot of that is flashy movies while Jonathan Nolan actually executes better on that layer story.
