*** Nintendo Switch ***

The differentiation factor has been and will always be their games, Nintendo don't need to keep creating pointless gimmicks!

Mario Galaxy wasn't amazing because you had to shake the controller around to collect starbits, Donkey Kong county returns wasn't amazing due to waggle.

Those games would have been amazing even without stupid controller gimmicks.

People buy Nintendo consoles solely for Nintendo games, how can you seriously say that if Nintendo had a console that had all the 3rd party games as well as their own games that more people wouldn't buy their consoles?

Completely agree with all of this.

I do think Nintendo do need make "the third console".

I would say 90% of people buy one of the 2 and then Nintendo as their backup console, it's very rarely someones first pick.

As said, the reason people buy Nintendo consoles is for their games. There is literally no other reason to buy them (unless you really like motion controls but honestly, who does?)

If they made a console that stacked up against the other 2 then for most people the choice would then be a lot harder.

Do you prefer Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo exclusives? Pick one. Rather than x + a nintendo.

I really really want Nintendo to succeed, I love their games but (IMO) they haven't done anything right hardware wise for a long time.

No they couldn't, do you want Nintendo to go the way of Sega?

What benefit is it to us to have yet another box like the PS4 or Xbox One?

Cause Sega failed only because they had competitive hardware? Nothing to do with all the Mega Drive hardware addons they released or the complicated as hell to develop for Saturn?

If they hadn't lost so much money before they released the Dreamcast they could possibly still be relevant.

And you think the Switch is priced in a way that younger children are going to get one and extra controllers too? Not to mention there really isn't much in the way of games for kids until Mario.

These children will get the Switch and extra controller the same way these children got their hands on a £400 iPad.

I am not on about what these children are interested in, I am talking about what Nintendo are targeting. They are not targeting at your Battlefield, sitting in front of the TV with headsets crowd. Where did you get that idea from their marketing so far? Or is that what you wanted and because they haven’t given you what you wanted, you are moaning?

I am very upset the PS4 Pro doesn’t come with a free screen, no strap for the pad and that I can’t play it on the plane. That is a valid complaint right? Because clearly Sony never marketed for that, so it is valid for me to moan about it.

There are expectations and then there is the reality. It is fine if their products are not living up to the expectations they themselves sett out, it is quite different when for the past few months they have already set up their expectation and then announced a product fitting that description. Who is at fault? The company releasing a product to the expectations they set out or the people having expectations that were never there in the first place?

1. Too expensive 330€ here on Amazon.de + shipping = 350€ Erm say w00t?
2. Expensive games - 49-50 quid for a game? W00T?
3. Few games at lauch...

Nintendo should just target gamers in general, that way they can't lose.

I'd be perfectly happy with Nintendo consoles being a secondary console just for their games if they didn't take the **** with their pricing.

The GC was like £130 the Wii was £180. It's only since the Wii U that Nintendo decides they can price like Sony and Microsoft and offer less for the money.

Looking at the switch marketing it appears they are after the hipster crowd who don't drive and catch the tube everywhere and who go to their friends rooftops and hang out having a soiree.

I don't see a single child in the reveal trailer. Just a load of singletons, some creep in an airport putting moves on some poor girl just because she has a switch too and someone who should have their dog taken off them for neglect.
