Thinking about ditching the PC

I can well understand where your coming from, I ditched a gaming rig and picked up a PS4 when I moved flats but more recently had been thinking about another gaming PC, however realistically as I've not had a top end gaming PC and I'm not even using a 4K PS4 I think I really don't "need" a super powerful gaming PC and would happily survive with even something powerful enough to play a few older things and newer stuff like Civ 6 which just isn't available for a console.

True true. There just aren't many if at all any rts for consoles.

Then again building a pc capable of playing civ at reasonable quality wouldn't be that expensive.

Just because you splurged £3000 on a gaming rig doesn't mean it's a mega gaming rig, dual card has always been a bit dodgy.
Sounds like you were annoyed with the PC, it's your own fault for spending that much, you could have spent half as much and have a good gaming PC, outclassing the console peasants, and knowing it's not that much more than a PS4.
Ahhh console peasants....

You must get loads of pocket money from your parents for such a sick ass PC man. Its something us poor folk in the console threads can only dream of....

Some are very much in the minority, it was the highest ranked game on Metacritic of 2016. Far, far from average.

Uncharted 4 was great. It wasn't over rated. And was a fitting finale for the series.

I think the margin in graphics between pcs and consoles are so close these days it boils down to whether you want hassle free gaming on a big screen from a sofa or bed. Or to have loads of settings and components to fiddle with while gaming at a desk with a monitor.

True, even on PC it's a bit of a dying breed.
I do love being able to play a few older things like Red Alert 2 and Company of Heroes on my Surface Pro though!

Loved the SP4 but it's an i5 8GB and isn't really powerful enough to be my sole PC as it's not great with Lightroom.

I've got to admit. That's pretty much the only genre I really miss being a console only gamer now. I used to love relaxing to a bit of civ. or playing my friends at a game of c&c generals. :(

Pretty much any pc nowadays should be able to run these games though. (Tried civ on my Mac mini recently, it chugs a bit!)

Lucky enough my dad gave me his old Alienware 14x which has a GT650M in it so I'll still be able to play some of the older games no problem.

I've put the PC up for sale here on OcUK so will see if it sells :)

Same, that and football manager for me.

Allow mouse keyboard support!

I've always gravitated towards the PC. I sold my PS4 to fund my current build, as it was largely going unused.
The PC simply offers so much value for the money. Unless you absolutely must have the latest console exclusives, I'd stick with PC gaming. It's objectively superior in almost every way!

I wouldn't, if you're a gamer you'd have all three.

This really isn't true.

I've been gaming for almost 30 years now and just because you don't own or can afford all current platforms doesn't mean you're any less of a hardcore gamer as the next person.
I've had to lose my gaming pc due to space and money issues but suppose I'm not a gamer now with my PS4 pro ;)

If anything console gamers are more "gamer" than pc, cause we spend more time playing the games, and less time faffing with settings ! :D

yep. PC gamers spend time faffing with settings. While console gamers faff online begging for pc like settings options. :p

Nice to have the option wouldn't you agree?
