Your Gaming TV!

Nothing to do with response it's the image retention.
Yep absolutely. A lot of the games I play have no HUD, or at least have a dynamic HUD or one that I can turn off or where I can adjust the opacity. I've discovered that making a preset with maxed out brightness/contrast then running the screen wipe for about 10 mins before gaming, then changing back to my normal preset has resulted in much less IR. Seems the big problem is with static images from cold.

If you want to upgrade from plasma. It has to be OLED. If you don't mind a sidegrade or even a downgrade then go for LCD. LCD cannot match plasma for black levels. It also has issues with backlight bleed, clouding, motion control, ghosting, etc. The bigger or cheaper you go the more apparent these are.

Yeah it seems that the 2017 OLED models are addressing a bunch of the current gen OLED issues. Looks like they will be bringing input lag down in the new models too which is nice. My Panny is measured at 23ms input latency in game mode which is close to Samsung LCD performance. Even 23ms on top of Steam Link means I miss twitch headshots quite often so I'm not willing to accept much more than that. B6V is apparently now 28ms so I'll be auditioning one but keeping an eye out for the figures on the newer models (allegedly 21ms on B7/C7). :)

Got my 55 inch ks7000 samsung tv today, very impressed with 4k netflix!

Im impressed with the small/smart remote, although it could do with backlit buttons like the xbox one remote. The second Samsung remote is a standard affair and horrible to use.
A great step up from my 42" 2014 sony

Also should (probably) be buying mass effect once the trial is up (pictured)

Why thank you sir, the sound is great too. All in it didn't cost the earth and I'm very pleased with it!

Only upgrade I'm gonna do soonish is a big centre and put it on the top I think (hides the cables). Also going to put some trunking on the cables.

How are you finding low light performance on that set wrt movie letterbox bars and bright points on dark backgrounds? I'm considering a larger one of these as a bang for buck option.

I haven't particularly noticed it and have yet to fiddle with the settings etc. I think if you really look for it, there is bleed from the corners (I had a look on the xbox settings screen), but honestly it doesn't bother me too much. 4k netflix really pops!

I've got a little light bleed on my ks7500. But it doesn't really bother me. As you don't see it after the tv has fully booted up.

Love my set. Wouldn't change it for anything else.

Looks a pretty bezel from Craig's.

Have the ks7000 too! Great set, having issues with Nintendo switch on it though. When not using the console it keeps auto switching to the consoles hdmi channel while we watch the etc :( really odd

Must be a Samsung specific issue as my LG B6V doesn't suffer from this.

Have you tried going in to the TV output settings on the switch and turning off the bit where it ties the power state to the TV?

I'd hope a firmware update sorts it. Or the switch will be staying unplugged until I need to use it. Which could get annoying.

Sounds like its a cec issue.

Ongoing issue with a lot of samsung sets. Not 100% sure where the fault lies, nintendo or samsung.

It seems to be an issue with the HDMI auto detect feature conflicting with each other.

If you fully power off the switch on the console it doesnt occur.

For what it's worth I work for a major AV manufacturer and we're having no end of CEC issues with the Samsung 7 and 8 series. It's a firmware issue their end which we're having to look for a work around for as they rarely acknowledge issues and just release an update 6 months later.

KS7000 and have had a few issue with CEC and my Yamaha soundbar, not to bad but I decided to turn anytime+ off as I hate that stuff, I switched to optical for TV sound.
And Im getting a Harmony remote which logitech advises to turn CEC off anyway.
Samsung seem to need to fix quite a few issues with the Samsung series!

I've been playing on my gf's Panny Plasma recently.. it's a bog standard cheap job.. and the fluid response on the screen is miles ahead of my Samsung LED screens.

It got me thinking.. is a larger monitor not the way forward due to their lower response times?

Apologies if this has already been discussed, I'm a lazy forum member who doesn't really go back further than 5 pages..

Hmm, I've actually never tried the PS3 and 4 on the VT50 as I keep it for critical movie viewing.

Input lag was measured to 24-28 ms, which is very low compared to the typical LCD model but average for Panasonic’s plasma TVs. Input lag is close to impossible to detect during casual use and the low level of input lag, combined with the low level of motion blurring, makes Panasonic VT50 a great TV for console gaming. The experience is very smooth and without controller delay.
