So i haven't cleaned my chain properly in a hell of a long time Please suggest me brands to get. Muc-off has good reviews on Halfrauds, but value forum suggestions better

WD-40 chain cleaner, and a chain brush from the rainforest. My brush cost me less than £2 delivered all the way from China

I have one of these, but I only really use it a few times a year, just spraying on cleaner and wiping off with a rag works the majority of the time.

Thanks for the replies, will go with WD-40 and one of those brushes. Expecting it to be a horrendous job to do but it absolutely needs it

Get a big roll of decent paper towel as well to wipe it all down.

Spray the WD40 on leave it for 5 minutes, run the brush around the chain a few times, give it another squirt with WD40 and then wipe it down with the towel until it's clean.
Leave to dry off for 15 minutes or so and lube.

I'd recommend some latex gloves if you've got them as well as it gets a bit messy but it's not a bad job.

It's going to be a very messy job. Not been cleaned in a looooooong time. To be fair, i wouldn't be surprised if it could do with a new chain

Seen one vlogger say just go to screwfix and get a 5L of no nonsense decreaser and then get a spray bottle to put it in. In terms of economy it's less than £10 and will last a long time! I'll be doing this once my can of chain cleaner runs out

If you want cheap then a 5l bottle of paraffin from B&Q or somewhere is about a fiver and will last ages.

What was the waterless wash and wax a few people were recommending a couple of weeks back? Looking at picking something up just to keep on top of the muck without having to spend my life washing it.
