Destiny 2

I used to be salty about the DLC prices but after switching to playing World of Tanks and spending a ridiculous amount of money on a "free" game I won't begrudge the amount I pay on any long term game but not planning on playing another 1374 hours like I have clocked up so far not including playing on my sons account to get him gear while he was at school. :D

Unsure if playtime racked up in Destiny was worthwhile and how much of it was repetition and grinding because it simply would not drop you the armour or weapon you needed. It took me 12 months of grinding to get the Gjallarhorn.

Really hoping the sequel is on a new engine, it's closer to the original vision of Destiny rather than the lobby hub game we got and dedicated servers are a must for Trials of Osiris.

The main reason for the large amount of hours was completely to do with the social side as I got into a large circle of OCUK guys and friends of friends etc and would do Nightfalls and weeklys and swap Raid checkpoints on a Tuesday and just chat away about anything and everything, even my girlfriend knew I was busy on a Tuesday lol.

Looking back it was completely insane but I met so many great chilled out people through Destiny.

i don't think Trials of Osiris will be available in destiny 2, will come with DLC later date. (did same in D1) gives them time to fix weapons (LOL)

For me lack of games in 2014 got me into destiny, but in september 2015 (taken king) i was already dropping destiny playtime due to amount of better games out. Rise of iron DLC i skipped.

It's a great game, but i can enjoy any game with right people :D

Pre ordered the collectors edition.

Still unsure if I will buy on PC or play on PS4...

if you don't have PC, no point spending that amount of money to play destiny?, just buy ps4 pro with OLED TV :D

I am torn on which platform though, Dredds is right about the lack of information regarding any differences across platforms, the PS4 and Xbox One were held back by previous gen consoles and it remains to be seen what will happen with PC, PS4 Pro and Scorpio compared to PS4 and Xbox One.

Scorpio vs pro could be fun, some news about red dead redemption 2 and battlefront 2 running true 4K resolution, maybe destiny 2 will follow?
Thats a massive jump from ps 4 pro 1800 max i've seen so far?

I've gone with PC initially, but I also don't want to miss out with all you guys on console. So I'm hopeful that we will at least get character sharing via our Bungie.net accounts, which would give us the option of swapping between platforms. Plus I've just got a PS4 Pro sat here not really doing much....

If D2 is available at true 4k on a PC with an option of around 60FPS dependent upon hardware... then I'll go with PC and OLED or Monitor.

Hopefully, character sharing is a thing.. otherwise, I may have to rethink a few things.

But Trials on the PC will be on a whole other level. I reckon it comes down to whether multiplayer is your main draw or not. If you're not too fussed or just want to kick back on the sofa, PS4. If you want to go full Trials/Crucible beast mode, PC. My problem is wanting both almost equally!

I don't see why you would buy on PC just for trials. Graphics then sure, but trials?

Speaking from my experience with managing multiple CS1.6/CS:S clans.. PC is the platform that is regarded as THE platform for high level FPS competitive multiplayer.

I'm not saying console players have less skill, I believe they are just limited by the hardware on offer for them to use.

Keyboard and mouse will always be the most true method of control, place a high level console player with a pad against a high level PC player with a keyboard and mouse and imo the PC player will win most of the encounters.

Therefore for competitive play against the highest level of competition, it is a better idea to play on PC.

I think that's what Warbie means.

Which is why I'm surprised he would choose a PC just for Trials.

You can use a KB and mouse on a console and give yourself an unfair advantage over controller users.

Even using a SCUF gives you an unfair advantage. I know a player with a 3 k/d in trials and as soon as their SCUF broke they just played like garbage (still averaged a decent k/d) but it showed that it does give an advantage.

If you choose to play just Trails on PC then your restricting yourself to gear available. You would still need to do PVE and normal crucible to get all the gear required for trials. How else would he get a tier 12 artifact, etc. Perfectly rolled armour and the guns to compete.

For me you have to pick 1 and stick with it unless they allowed transfers between PS4 and PC.

Trials, for me at least, is not about going 9-0 at any cost.. it's about being better than the opposition, having more skill than they do. That's what imo makes it competitive.

PC is a completely even playing field. Everyone is able to fine tune their hardware and peripherals in the same way. There is no way, without actually hacking, to gain an unfair advantage.

That, in part, makes the PC community the absolute must for competitive play imo.

I understand you have your views on this and you're only voicing them, I am simply doing the same :)

to be competitive in trials though you need to have competitive weapons and armour.

there is no point you using for instance a strangers rifle in trials, if you want to be competitive.

so saying i'm going pc just for trials wouldn't be true you would need to do mostly everything in order to be competitive. as you need competitive gear and the only way to get competitive gear is by doing non trials stuff regularly to get the god roll weapons and decently rolled armour.

me and my friends don't play win at any cost either. 1 of them refused to use any other special weapon than a sniper during the whole shotgun meta. he put himself at a disadvantage to play the way he wanted to play.

if a team is using cheap tactics (skorri farming) to guarantee wins, we won't resort to them either.

Not good Zoomee :(
Not sure if serious

Don't ask chaps - all went to pot these past two years

I learnt a big lesson from Destiny - No game is worth that much of my time. Chase this, chase that, then get it given to everyone else for free when the next DLC drops. errr, nah lol.

I'd love to play D2 (and probably will once stuff settles) but no way I'm gunna invest the same time and effort that went into Destiny, into ANY game again.
