Done. What's this about the dock scratching the screen? Do I need a protector and if so, which? Don't want a rubbish one!

Yes a tempered glass screen protector is 100% necessary. The screen is made out of soft plastic and scratches very easily.

At least it will never crack like phone screens do though.

I'm not bothering with a screen protector personally, i'm using it as god intended.

Saying that I never bother with a screen protector on any of my devices.

This isn't like mobile phones with their gorilla glass or similar screens so I wouldn't take the risk. The Switch's plastic screen scratches very easily in comparison.

Obviously it's your choice but I think it's important for people to make informed decisions.

Likewise, though I've seen too many videos of this thing showing scratches from the dock to be confident with it.

Yeah I'm not risking it. I take it in and out of the dock a lot and I use it out and about. £8.99 for two very good quality protectors is well worth it to me.

Indeed it's each to their own, I see no need for it with my usage.

A dock sock would help with that, I have one on just in case.

Screen protectors aren't my bag, I don't like the feel and I don't like the faff of applying them (granted I haven't tried any of the Switch ones). I'd be incredibly OCD about any bubbles as well so it's better for my sanity if I keep it naked.

The switch feels nicer with a glass screen protector as it feels more like a phone screen to use now rather than the cheapo plastic original screen.

I went with Kreeeee's recommendation as he had bought their products before and rated them. Pretty sure it was Kreeeee anyway!

Orzly tempered glass? That's my weapon of choice but a lot of people recommended it.

Any recommendations for protectors other than the Orzly before I order? Someone on Reddit recommended this when I nearly bought a Switch a few weeks ago: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N3AS...UTF8&colid=14SYZV8SP2RSB&coliid=IYQ5OTLNOABLJ.

They're just OK. They feel fine but they don't fit the screen properly! There is a few millimetres gap around the edge that isn't protected and it's hard to line them up because too because of that. The Orzly ones fit properly.

They did but I think in my case you were the tipping point as you had bought them before. I initially went with the one that came with the case but took it off soon after as there were specks under it and it started peeling away. Then I used it without one for a while but got nervy so I read about it here and decided to go for those. Anyway yeah, they are quality.

Just chanced a look in smyths toys to see switch stock and luckily got one, but grey :-(. Got mk8 and pro controller £370 all in. Mk8 amazes me with the graphics, i whored mk8 wii u big time, all packs earnt golden gear but switch is another level!

That's good to hear, I was debating whether to bother with switch version as still have wii u but went for it today because useless at not buying things.

My lad (5 years) is addicted to splatoon, hes so funny with it and i dont mind as its such a good natured game. We had a splatoon birthday party for his 5th with splatoon cake, t shirts, table mats etc etc. He saw splatoon 2 and exploded, the double guns did him. Hes got all the gear, mini games and weapons you can get on splatoon, even the amiibo levels, gear n weapons.
