*** Nintendo Switch ***

Looks awesome, 2D Sonic > 3D Sonic.

£15.99 as well, nice price :) (At least that's what it is in the Xbox store, hoping it'll be the same on Switch).

Is it easy/safe enough to download games which aren't available in your current region like the binding of isaac? It's weird hows is taken so long to come out in the UK?

Yes it's fine. I just set up a US account. You won't be able to use your debit/credit card through the Switch though whilst logged into the different region. You have to buy eShop cards for the region you want to buy it from (Amazon.com or .jp or Play-Asia or something like that) and then redeem the code.

Sonic £15.99 on the Xbox will probably translate to £24.99 on the Switch!

I don't think it will (for Sonic Mania) - SEGA & Nintendo have had a loooonnngg relationship. They're regularly associated with each other. They know they're going to make a killing on this one in terms of sales. And they've been working it for the Switch platform for a while, not last minute for say like RIME.

But hey, I didn't think Brexit would vote Yes and Trump would become president. So lets wait and see :p

Oh my child hood is coming back!!

Will Sonic Mania have the option to play through the original games as-is (Sonic 1, Sonic 2, etc etc)

I get the feeling it will inc some of the classic levels untouched, whilst adding in new ones. That's not really the same thing. Would be perfect if you could play the originals just with enhanced graphics, and then play the new game.

I'm fairly certain it revisits old levels with there own twists to them, I don't think it includes the old games in there complete form! I quite like the idea of recognising a stage but still being surprised by it

Really excited to play it, sonic was my childhood and went downhill after adventure :( this could be the comeback he deserves

Thanks to everyone who replied to my previous questions.

I'll buy a pro controller next month I think, little bit pricey for me to get right now. Some of the games mentioned, Shovel Knight, Minecraft, Snake Pass etc I've never played before, so will definitely check them out. I used to love Bomberman as a kid so tempted by that.

I've been looking at the ethernet adapters... I have one of these already thats not being used - https://www.anker.com/products/A7514041 - will this work with the switch does anybody know?

Its an old game with outdated gameplay and graphics.

No way is that worth the price of many new indie titles u can get.
Developers don't work for free and its a new game with updated visuals designed in a 16bit way. Like plenty of other indie titles coming out at the same price. If it was literally a straight port of the original Sonic games, then yeah ofcourse you would be right...buuuut it isn't.

If the market thinks its too expensive people wont buy it, sega will either have to drop price or be happy selling less.
They are a business they want to make as much money as they can.
