£10-20k's worth of student debt to pay off is not an insignificant number, that's literally the deposit for a house for a generation who doesn't have particularly good hopes of being able to get onto the property ladder.

The UK result on the other hand is a disaster. STV has had a election result show all night and this morning they were talking of a Labour/SNP coalition to run the UK. This would be a complete and utter catastrophe. For one thing I don't want that idiot Corbyn in a seat of power and certainly don't want him giving everything away in the Brexit negotiations. He has already stated this morning that he would guarantee the right to stay in this country for anybody who is already here. What about guaranteeing the rights of UK citizens living in Europe in trade for that right? No mention of that. The biggest problem in this suggested coalition though is the SNP. They have already proven that they are anti UK and want nothing less than to rule Scotland, seperate from the rest of the UK. They will only have their own interests to gain their aims and will not act in the best interests of the UK.

What is now going to happen with Brexit? If the Tories form a minority government they won't be able to get anything through. If Labour form a coalition Corbyn will give away everything and we will be no better off than we are now and could even be worse off. Maybe it's time to put it to the people again and have a final referendum on membership? Perhaps the so hard done by yougsters will actually get off their backsides and vote this time!! That's only any good though if Article 50 can even be undone and the EU won't shaft us to undo it even though it will make us look a complete joke.

Vote for the party they perceived best? Or at the very least keep out the party they thought worst.

These sorts of comment are a classic example of how ***** the electoral system in this country is.
 
Labour can't form a government, the maths simply doesn't add up. It looks like an unstable Tory minority is most likely but full coalition with either the DUP (who are a nasty pack) or the LDs (who will demand a second referendum, surely) is possible.

Exactly this hasn't been explained to public during election. They tried but at every point the media and the 2 terrorism events didn't allow these facts to be raised. Now for me Brexit is dead and we are a diminished country and the EU have fulfilled their prophesy of being poorer
TM can't resign I think. Probably the most pressure any PM has faced since Churchill. They brought it upon themselves.
They probably lost the next election to I can't see any credible leader to replace her or would want to.

I can't see a coalition with the LDs happening again. They took a beating last time because of it. To do it again would be suicide for the party.

So, May is not resigning, and will go to the palace at 12.30. Cons plus religious nutters running the country as we go in to brexit.

As Vonhelmet said yesterday, at least Labour buying the young vote makes a change from the usual Torries buying the pensioner vote ;)
