Tower block fire - london

A large number of my friends are trying as we speak to move out of London but the problem is their isn't much work inside their chosen fields outside of London, I know my wage ain't the best in the world but compared with overall quality of life the only thing I'm really lacking is entertainment and high quality restaurants.

But I'm not a fan of London, too many people makes me agitated.

Lily Allen confirmed, she knew for sure there were 150 people dead as people in the know had told her this. Lily Allen, a paragon of virtue.

Didn't she apologize on behalf of the whole of the UK for the way Syrians were being treated or something? Chick's an idiot.

That is one issue for me - the work I'm best qualified for doesn't really exist outside of London and a little bit in Bristol and 1-2 other cities but while I love London after only about 4 years or so of living there I'd had enough of living there.

The same Lilly Allen that claims to be common but actually went to private schools all her life?

Sadly she is just another detached lovey who believes she is one of the people and speaks for them. She can't see the irony of it, but then most lovey's struggle with it and feel they need to be more vociferous in their words as this adds more to their credibility. I am sure she mixes with 'the people' more than many as that's where she lives, but her bias and hate clouds her words so often, her father was the same angry sort, even worse. It is why I hardly follow anyone famous on Twitter, the couple I do tend to be women I had a thing for when I was younger or know personally. :D

We need a subforum for bashing people we have never met before or known personally so that we can feel smug about ourselves (me included ironically) so that we can keep these threads on point

Should start one of those threads "post something nice about the poster before you" with a twist :D.

Shame it almost always ends up with an argument becoming bitching.

i remember one of the forums i used to be on had an "arena" thread, every time you had a major fallout between 2 members the argument was moved in there (with only the 2 of them allowed to post) and the winner was decided by public poll

No holds barred? its gonna be a race for the your mother jibes.

yep, although the idea was that to win the argument you had to abstain from that sort of thing in order to win the vote.

cant remember if there was a penalty for losing other than just being the loser.

an interesting concept, and i suppose at least it let members really have it out rather than be blocked by moderating decisions and keep the hatred festering.

More footage from firefighters seeing the blaze for the first time - again can't link due to swearing - gotta hand to to them just getting on with their job under the circumstances.

79 now is it..?

Does anyone know how many people lived there, and how many got out/were re-homed? I'm curious about how accurate that figure is likely to be. There is a mixture of chatter flying around at the moment, some plausible, some not, on top of what is being reported.

Saw a video on Facebook of a couple of guys who live there and they said a pal in the fire brigade said on one of the floors they were storing the bodies and there was around 150....

Truck load of salt needed

Last time I saw anything like realistic figures it was I believe estimated between 400 and 600 people would normally be in the building. Around 200-250 supposedly got out before firefighters arrived and another 65 were rescued from the building - it is also estimated that around 100 who'd normally be in the building weren't due to Ramadan i.e. were at their place of worship, etc. (or other reasons like working) so possibly you could be talking around another 100 unaccounted for potentially.
