Twitter itk still seem to think we are in for keita I don't see it in fact I don't see fsg ever spending so much on one player as rumour is would cost least 70 million

If we were going to spend 70m on someone, I would much rather we just picked up the phone to Southampton and offered them 70m for Van Dijk. As good as Keita is, we need to fix the defence far more than we need to fix the midfield.

do you really think van dijk is worth 70m??? the transfer market has went absolutely bonkers
 
Some sources say we're 'missing out' on Perisic and he's going to sign a new contract.

Personally delighted by that, he's good but the fees mentioned were crazy.

We need both in reality though, we spend what we spend in truth any transfer fee is silly not our money directly.

I'm getting concerned that klopp may just give miner another season at left back as you say defence is main issue. Only area we don't need to strengthen is striker department

Do I think he is worth 70m to anyone? No.
Do I think he is worth 70m to us, a team in dire need of good defenders. Yes.

My old shoes are worth pennies to me, but to a shoeless man they are priceless.

If X amount of money is enough to secure us the quality defenders we need, then X amount of money is what we have to pay or accept either lesser defenders or letting in goals again next season which could cost us badly.
 
I would rather us pay 70mil elsewhere personally and bring Sakho back in. I know its unlikely and has been done to death but thats saving us 40 mil right there...put that on Keita.

Sakho will never come back in, and even if he did it would just be a future problem waiting to rear its head again. Damage is done there, bridges burned, grudges created. Any "reconciliation" would merely be a facade covering the next breakdown in relations. If anything, bringing him back him could create more bootroom tensions than it resolves and be potentially disharmonious.

Keita is good, but I just dont see the need for him. Sort out the CB and LB, everyone said time and again last season that we were fine going forward but that the problem was that no matter how good we were offensively, you always knew that Liverpool would give you chances. If we dont resolve that defence as the number 1 priority this summer, then next season will just be a repeat of this season, only we would probably do worse because of competing in Europe too. Now isnt the time for luxury midfielders , now is the time for reliable, strong, decent defenders to strengthen our most problematic area.

ok i shall rephrase the question ( im assuming your a man utd fan ) do you think he is good enough for man utd??? personally i dont think he is what i would class as man utd class eso when you see some of the previous cbs they have had or currently have

i was asking tombstone if he was a man utd as i dont know what team he supports but mentioned we again. so if the chap is a man utd fan i was asking him a club specific question about whether he was good enough for a man utd player ( apologies if tombstone supports anyone else )

i tried but the fact 70m is apparently the going rate for van dijk made me think it was not liverpool. it gets confusing as the profile avatars are mostly all the same.

I'm a Liverpool fan, so as you can appreciate I care little what is deemed or not deemed "Man Utd class" :)
