Not digging the Diaz fight, it's a hard sell from the UFC considering Nate is far from deserving of a title shot at 155.

That being said if it happens I can see Conor absolutely mauling him at that weight.
All depends which Nate shows up, if its the Nate the showed up against michael johnson all ripped, and shredded will be a war!

Sucks for the division, but can see why, it will be the biggest ppv in ufc history easy

I know Conor wants big money fights, but I do think he is scared of defending his title for fear of losing it the first time out.
If Nate can get down to 155 and avoid all those leg kicks, I can see him stopping Conor.

Conor just stepped into the ring with one of the best boxers ever. Do you really think he's scared to defend his title?

Conor vs Floyd did 6.5m PPV buys. The UFC is going to have to dig deep if they want Conor to fight again.

Boxing Mayweather for $100m has nothing to do with him defending his UFC title. What I believe is that without his belts, Conor will be less convincing strutting around like he has been. If he loses his title, his hype train just won't be the same. He knows it. If he lost his title to Ferguson (for example), he wouldn't be no.1, and he has to be no.1. His image and his mouth is all about being no.1, so he can't lose his title, therefore a non-title fight is the best thing for him.

I've got a novel idea - how about a UFC champion actually fighting the number one contender for a change!!!!

It's so frustrating that as soon as anyone win's a UFC title they are all calling out their own particular "money fight" instead of fighting the guy next in line!

Unless I'm mistaken I think I'm correct in saying that McGregor hasn't actually defended ANY belt in the UFC???

I get your point but Conor lost against Nate and it didn't effect his popularity. It's all about money and with Jon Jones out for, most likely, years then it's all on Conor.

Bang on! as much as i like Bisping he dodged 2 bullets with Jacare and Romero. he deserves a big money fight tho and could honestly see Gsp being his last fight

It didn't, but his popularity is not the main thing that matters. If he is hated but still no.1, he is still no.1 and will continue to strut his stuff. People will pay to see him hopefully get knocked out. If he loses his belt, it will change that, and he'll lose some of his credibility when he shouts his mouth off at press conferences. It's not disimilar to Rousey and her hype train that derailed as soon as people realised she couldn't take punches or fight at distance (I'm not comparing their fighting ability :)!!). I write this after realising a while ago that I'm a fan of Conor and his antics outside the ring and ability in the octagon, but he really really needs to defend his belt as his next fight. Of course, I can see why the UFC aren't forcing him to do this $$$ :).

Yeah, I'd argue Bisping is perhaps the exception given his age and the fact that he's most probably only got one or two fights left!

And he's not ducked anyone as far as I can remember - like you say he dodged a couple of bullets with Romero and Jacare losing - but they weren't his doing!

UFC Fight Night this Saturday, not the best looking card.

Alexander Volkov Vs Stefan Struve
Siya Bahadurzada Vs Rob Wilkinson
Marion Reneau Vs Talita Bernardo
Leon Edwards Vs Bryan Barberena

Not too many names I recognise but sometimes they are the ones that deliver!

Whatever happens it will be more interesting than last weekends fight!

Edwards is a Brit so will have my eye on that, Barberena was a clown when he beat Northcutt so hope Edwards smashes him.

Reneau and Bernado i've never heard of, much like Bahadurzada.

Volkov Vs Struve should be decent.

Remember Diego Brandao? He fought last night and ended up vaulting the cage half way through the second round and basically ran off. :p

He always seemed a bit mental.

I read about that apparently he was getting nutted and eye gouged and the ref let it go, jumped over the cage and offered half the crowd out lol
