Summer Transfer Window 2017/18 - Rumours & Signings

Arsenal are delighted that Sanchez is staying and makes a statement on their title charge...

Really...

That is even more worrying if they truly think that. Lol
Indeed, the fact that Arsenal are celebrating the fact that one of our players, who so desperately wants out has no choice but to stay. A player who is seemingly toxic to the dressing room is staying.

Will he give his all to us his season?? Will he sign an extension therefore making sure we get as much as we can for him next year?? Or will he just leave for free, leaving us screwed as in no transfer fee.

The mind absolutely boggles with this sorry excuse of a senile manager we have. His tactical decisions, his line ups etc are beyond a joke now. Then the icing on the cake is his transfer policy which is truly lolworthy.

The next annual supports meeting is going to be interesting.

Do we have any sane reason yet, why Sanchez and Ox started against Liverpool? Why Lacazette and Kolasinac where dropped? Why Bellerin was played on the left and Ox a player wanting to leave on the right?

We need to stop playing Monreal as a CB too.

What on earth is the old man doing!!?:(

Lacazette was on the bench and didn't play because according to Wenger, he is still in the adaptation stage. Like I said before, this is the guy we bought for £52mill, scored within a minute against Leicester and Wenger thinks he isn't quite ready?? Lol just lol.

Also now that Mustafi is staying, will Wenger play him as a cb which is what he is. Or are we still going to see Monreal and Kolasinac as makeshift cbs lol.

Kolasinac should now play as LB. Montreal unfortunately I think will keep his place because he filled in and was ok. But it's not his natural position and should play the best suited players not his favourites. I don't think he will learn.

So we've managed

1 excellent player, 2 promising and 1 squad player, I suppose Keita coming next year rescues it but tbh we haven't done well as usual and a net spend of only 50m ish :(

They could have got Lemar in and gotten rid of Sanchez who has been spoiling for a move all summer, now they're stuck with a player who doesn't want to be there and will now leave on a free.

I'm saying that even if they were in the champions league, it wouldn't be any different. They have zero direction in the transfer market. Lemar? Why would he move to them?

Being in the Europa league is the least of their problems.

This is one of the things I mentioned somewhere else, and to my dad as we watched the game. Ox and Sanchez are probably off, you just brought in Kol on Ozil/Sanchez matching wages(which is just dumb in terms of wage structure and peeves off other players, I'd have preferred to buy him for 10mil in Jan than give him 3mil extra a year in wages for 4 years), but you play Ox and Sanchez and drop the one defender you brought in. He's a left back who likes to bomb forward so you start a RB at LWB and a crap footballer at RWB who can't defend to save his life.

It was absurd, it made no sense, it will never make sense. Lacazette was even worse, if you started Giroud because you thought Lacazette wasn't ready for such a game or was more suited to this game, stupid but at least that makes sense but he didn't start Lacazette because he wasn't adapted, but instead started Welbeck who is absolute **** 99.8% of the time he's on the pitch for us because he's just a bad football. So someone who might not play well and needs game time to adapt refused game time in favour of someone who would near certainly play woefully.

At some point the fans might band together to realise Wenger is and has been a joke of a manager for years now and we might just get in a half decent manager. I just hope it's before yet another round of contract renewals for the crap players that will be a weight around the neck of the next manager. Had ox not left, potentially 180k a week when back in the CL it sounds like was the offer.... for Ox, a guy who has 3-4 good games a season and is exceptionally limited.

I try to keep my glass half full. We've kept everybody we want to keep (touch wood), added a quality winger and much needed depth to our squad. CB is the one area where we really should have done something though.

It will be interesting to see how the club spin the Keita transfer. They'll probably include it in this summers business to inflate our summer spend to around the £100m and then they'll include it again next summer to boost our perceived spend then too. On a side note, I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up getting Keita in January - if they're out of the CL and not in a title race, bung them £2-3m and take him in January.
Messing up the VVD transfer early doors didnt help.
Do you believe it made any real difference? If Southampton were going to sell they'd have sold, if not to us then to Chelsea or whoever else.

I think we've dropped a proverbial, we have had 2 weak spots for 2 seasons, and we havent done anything to stregthen the keeping or CB position, i guess Klopp is thinking Ward and Gomez will come good, but we masivvly lack authority through the spine for now, i would have liked a commanding keeper or CB at the very least.
