I still can't decide between keeping my 6 or an 8 or 8+, luckily it seems I've all the time in the world to choose as all models and colours seem to still be available.

I'm feeling the same, I don't know what to do.....why did they have to make it so underwhelming, although maybe it's a good thing, who knows.

This is so annoying.. apple upgrade day used to be so easy :D

I would love the X but its the lack of home button and the front camera and mic bit that are really putting me off.

How else would they make the X look even more appealing? ;) The 8 is still looking like a "want" upgrade from my 6S but for the first time I'm happy to wait a couple of months!

Tempted to cancel my EE sim only deal I've just signed up to if possible and use the GF's o2 discount as I can get the 8 with 20GB data for £44 which works out a fair bit cheaper than sim only and buying the phone separate.

Even the X doesn't look appealing though, to me at least and marrying it up to what I actually use a phone for.

Just had a look the 256gb versions are showing 1-2 weeks lead times wheres the the 64gb models are still showing 22nd.

Getting the X but ordered the new Apple TV, using Apple Pay with the Apple Store app is so convenient. Don’t have to fill out any forms or anything. Couple of taps and a Touch ID.

Anyone seen any good deals? Was gonna try the Very 20% thing but not showing yet on their site.

I'm debating either picking up a used 7 or an 8.

Also deciding whether to have it myself to replace a 5S or get it my wife and then get hers.

Am i missing something here. If i buy the phone (iphone 8 + 256gb) in full from o2 it would cost me £60 more than the phone actually costs from Apple and i would be forced to pay £10 more a month for the same monthly tarriff i have now ? how the hell does that work lol

Deals at O2 seem decent. Been working it out at about £900 over the 2 years for the 64gb version (including cashback). That seems cheaper than the phone/basic tarriff.

Note this is only a 3gb data tarrif as my wife doesnt use much anyway.

You can get them from very already but I don't think you can get 20% off. Think its limited to 10% on electrical goods. Still, brings the cost of the 8 down to the price you would have paid for the 7+ last year which makes it easier to swallow.

I agree, its silly..

I can either upgrade and get the following deal: 20gb (£63) * 24 months = £1500
or
Buy handset from apple (£699) and 24 months 20gb SIMO (£20)*24 = £1180

Am I missing something? £300 extra for the privilege of being tied into o2 for 24 months, and spreading the cost of the handset? (OK, you can get £100 cashback, but still..)
