*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

They won't offer anything for Sky Q apart from 10%.... I've already moved to Virgin and waiting for equipment to arrive end of this month.

No virgin available sadly at my place :(

Sky sports has to stay I've been told :( My best hope is putting up a TV Aerial in the loft and moving to BT as Sky literally offered very little over the phone :(

Any decent offers going around at the moment? :o I like Sky but Sky+HD w/ Sky Sports + BT Sports (think its through BT anyway), Fibre 38Mb and Anytime phone is circa £100 a month and that's eye watering. I'd like SkyQ but they offered nothing on the phone :(

Rubbish... Literally just renewed my Sky Q contract over weekend on the phone and got 50% off. I kept the same package Box Sets HD with Multiroom. The 50% off only applies to box sets so works out £31 a month (£19 box sets and £12 multiroom). They said I could've had cinema, sports and/or F1 as well with the 50% off but I don't use them so declined.

I just rang and straight up said want to renew my deal as not paying full price (£50). Quite happy to go back to Freesat. Said can I have 60% off again and he said best can do is 50% off that was retentions team on phone.

I don't have Sky Q at all.. think that's the issue...going from HD to Q

Get the deal with 50/60% off, then on the online part of your Sky account you can add Sky Q for £12 a month :)

Just did this for my parents, they now pay £44 a month for every channel, Sky Q and multiroom

Where does the 50/60 come in?

I'm almost considering just installing a terrestrial aerial this weekend. Everything is there cabled in, just needs one hooking up. I used the YouView box at a customers home the other day and it was nice...

Once you have put in your cancellation you have 30 days to change your mind. Normally checking your Sky account through the Sky Box, or logging in on Sky.com you will see a 50% off offer on there.

Take that, then upgrade through their website to Sky Q

Just dome a 12 month renewal, the boxset deal, £38 reduce to £19. Film channel is shockingly bad, so reuse to pay for that anymore.

That is a 54% increase, so yes it's an issue.. hence why I went with Virgin, who for the same £22, gave me their new box, upgraded my fibre from 70 to 200MB and I have the same channels. (bar Sky Atlantic ofc, but they include BT sports for free)
I'd rather have Sky FTTC over VM's network.

Pretty much what I have done. My deal of 60% came to an end, put notice in to cancel.Tried as much as I could to get 60% again but ended up with 50% off my existing package, £25 credit on a rolling contract. Bill has gone up from £32 to £40/month for all channels. I really wanted to get sky q but could only get 10% off. So I waited and I have just added sky q yesterday for the £12 per month. That is on a 18 month contract but all channels package is still on a rolling contract. I am happy paying £52 for all of that and multiroom. Just got to wait to get it installed now, over a month ffs

My 60% rolling contract just expired. They offered 50% on 12 months locked in. I have put my notice in. Any tips to get 60%. Or any Sky Q offers?

We have the most basic package and got 50% off for 6 months. My parents recently got 40% off for 18 months. Definitely deals to be had...

Those are not good deals, 50% is the base line. Anything better than 50 is considered good. Anything worse and you are overpaying. Consider sky to be DFS or Dominos Pizza and you are on the money :)

Why do Sky operate like this, I would consider getting Sky if it wasn't so expensive and it seems with these deals it is cheaper but it's a stupid way of doing it.
Because they have to balance the books? £5bn on Football doesn't come cheap you know? And millions have it, despite the pricing and not everyone gets discounts!
