I’ll be having my Friday afternoon “is it a girl or a guy?” debate tomorrow.

Without fail, I see someone filtering through the traffic ahead of me at around 4:25pm on the way home from work.

My instinct and senses say it’s a girl from the frame and the long blonde (platted) hair but want to be sure before I get too excited :D:(

It's Steve. Sorry :(

But with more power and torque you dont need to worry so much what gear your in . roll it on and go past . Yes if you want to take multiple cars then cog it down but most overtakes are sorted in a flick of the wrist . As other have said you dont need 150+ bhp or 1000cc but having those makes what can be a sketchy overtake on a smaller bike into a non issue .

The main thing is regardless what bike yer on is to be safe and not to take on overtakes that are 50/50 and then suddenly find out there is another car there or a junction ahead etc

:o :o :o... You finish before 5?! :@

I have my heated gloves which I’ve never even used, discount going if you want them.

I think they are Large, I’ll have to check.

They are the Gerbing xrs-12 heated gloves.

Thanks to Clov!s for a fine deal on these gloves... I saw the opportunity when TallPaul declined his discounted offer and nabbed all ten cosy digits for myself. Picked them up from Post Office this morning, will have a play and put them to use when the temperature really drops. Probably not really beforehand as the thickness of the gloves, as with all winter gloves, means a compromise on tactility (clutch, throttle...).

Haha you're welcome! :p short cuff ones would be too short for me, I'll get a set of long ones in the next few weeks of the weather turns colder.

Hmmm, so riding my bike yesterday and could smell petrol fumes fairly strongly. Checked for leaks and haven't noticed any. I was running close to the red line on the fuel guage at the time, will this be the cause possibly?

Not one to frequent in here but I thought worth giving you guys a heads up... you may even be aware already.

A friend had his Yamaha MT07 stolen a few months ago. Thankfully it was recovered and he got it back on Saturday. He's been going over the bike this week and has come across an aftermarket module plugged into the loom, fitted by the guys that stole it. After looking further into it, it appears to fool the ECU into thinking the immobiliser is deactivated allowing the bike to be started without the key. Not 100% but I'd imagine that the key has an RFID chip.

These modules are less than £20 on the bay and they seem to work with bikes made after 2004 with the YISS system.

Happy to remove the above on request. Don't want to give any unwanted visitors ideas but just FYI.

Wow that's pretty interesting! Never thought to look for something like that after getting the bike back.

It was the circuit board (about 4cm square) wrapped in white electrical tape and 5" of wire into a rather well made connector with water proof pins. Looked like it was made to plug directly into the loom in place of the factory immobiliser, wherever that is on the MT.

Not been a fun few months for my mate though. He was tracking the bike from posts on FB/Instagram, had names of the guys etc. He even found a post where one of them was offering the bike for sale, a 17 plate MT07 for £1000

Had a quick search apparently these things are sold to be used on track bikes and the like to bypass the immobiliser, can't see any other reason for them

Christ. Always some ***** trying to make a quick buck. Say what you want about scooters, but you can always have an Almax on you.
