*** Nintendo Switch ***

Race score in Mario Kart is very poorly designed. It's very hard to lose points so it's only a measure of how much you have played and not how did you are.

I dont think the race score was ever designed to be a competitive metric; there's no ranked mode in Mario Kart.
It's really just there to motivate players, and as a way to gauge the experience of your opponents.

Even although I have it on PC I just can't help but support this one but DOOM is up for pre-order on Nintendo's UK Store now.

I know, I know, £49 is a lot considering the game has been out but to be honest if you haven't played it, do so!! It's got a terrific campaign plus the Switch version comes with all the DLC for multiplayer which is a pretty good deal.

Yeah Doom is high up on my wishlist for PC. I just need Switch to have a little drought lol... I don't have too much time for games atm.
If Xenoblade2 is up to the standard of the previous 2 games it will prob do me for a month or two at least. I may play Doom on PC if I get done with Mario this month.

Ah got you. Yes 975 hours play would certainly give you a healthy race score. I was mostly amazed at the play time!

I love it so much. The last month or so I have been playing it every night for an hour or two.

I never had the dlc so there would be some incentive for me to jump In! What is it that draws you to It? Online play or is there some single player stuff to aim for? I can't really remember how the game is structured

Swings and roundabouts.

Only played a few times online when it first came out with the OCUK private lobby. That was fun and you get full 60fps

4 player with mates is also great for the "bantz", but it runs at 30fps.

Single player isn't too bad to unlock carts and stuff.

The real fun comes from multiplayer though really.

I find the 200CC mode is too mental though.

The game is balanced around 150cc.

If you want to play 200cc you really have to select from a very small selection of character and kart combinations to do well and not fall off everywhere.

I would 100% recommend DOOM if you haven’t played it, especially when it goes for as low as £8 or something on PC, it really has a great campaign and was a lot of fun.

I also loved Xenoblade on 3DS but couldn’t get into X on the Wii U. Probably more due to the fact I played it on the go and then was kinda bored of my Wii U by the time X came around! Very much looking forward to 2 coming on Switch will be the perfect commute game again.

Let’s be honest, what a year it’s been!

For me it is the online racing that gives the most enjoyment. I played through the SP stuff when I first got it just to learn the basics. It is fun and rage inducing at the same time. Mostly though it is just pure and simple fun to race online.

200cc races are insane but I am doing a lot better now that I can use the brake more successfully and I'm falling off a lot less. Still happens from time to time but now I can race in the top 3 as opposed to running in 12th :)

What's annoying is you need to change your setup depending whether you are playing 150 or 200cc, but online it's random and I play 200cc about 60% of the time and 150cc about 35% of the time (weirdly sometimes it's 100cc).

Zelda is superb only done a few hours but really impressed so far. It’s a stunning game considering the hardware it’s running on lots of little touches.

Really impressed with the switch tbh I think I will use it far more than I anticipated.

Gear Club looks good too....

Can i just confirm is it safe buying digital on the Switch? can I redownload the games easily?

What do you mean safe? If you lose your Switch and buy a new one it's still a pain to get all your games back on the new Switch.

Transferring purchases from a working Switch to a new one is easy, and the old Switch actually could still play all the games too for me.

Glad you're enjoying it. Zelda is sublime. I kind of envy you, I wish I was playing it again for the first time. You have sooo much to learn and discover!

That's a shame, I think I'll stick with physical copies then, sounds like Nintendo still have a way to go still with regards to digital.
