*** Nintendo Switch ***

Rocket League is so soon? Damn.

I'm no fan boy, I'll buy whatever appeals to me. But, the Switch is incredible. To think I was so hung up about it not having the latest Nvidia chip on launch, it doesn't matter. It's a great device, arguably the best portable we've seen in a long long time.

Yeah the system is really special. It's at the point now where I'll only play third party games on the switch, and I'll wait in case there ever released for it.

It's only the big Sony exclusives on the ps and overwatch on the Xbox one that I play on other systems now.

I've never played rocket league though.

Rocket league is a lot of fun. If they have this with good crossplay multiplayer it'll be a must buy for me. The pick up and play value for this game when you've a spare half hour will be incredible , and if you get good it can get real competitive too.

It's great how many titles are moving over to the switch it's getting great support , and after playing a few of them it's hard to see how it wasn't made for the switch in the first place. I just wish fifa got a bit more attention to detail or they would port over pes or even fm. That would be great.

I’m loving my new Switch and surprised to find myself using portable mode almost as much as console mode. It’s great for a quick blast on something.

I know it is sacrilege as a Nintendo fan, but I lost my love for Mario many, many years ago. It had its charm when I was younger, but by the time N64 Mario came out (which by all accounts is an amazing game) I found it...fine I guess, just samey is all. While this one is no doubt a well made and excellent game (especially based on all the reviews) I just can't find myself getting excited about it, I am sure I would have fun for a hour or 2 but after that I would probably not find myself picking it up to play.
You should give it a go. I’m not a big Mario fan either (3D World was the first one I’d played since Mario 64) but the gameplay changes a lot over the course of the game and even the traditional jumping sections are quite creative.

Yeah, I will probably borrow it from a friend sometime to have a blast at it. I guess its just as a big RPGer, games I tend to go for are ones with significant char progression, the only exception being when I occasionally indulge in an FPS and hone my reaction times and aiming skills. When Mario was a 2D platformer and I was younger it was perfect, but once t progressed to 3D it was around the time I really got to experience RPG computer games, as a result when playing Mario it felt too shallow, and I guess that has stained it for me

Rocket league can be fun and addictive but I've found the online community is extremely toxic. I stopped playing as I was put off by that.

You can turn chat off etc. Hope the switch community is better but being cross platform you will experiance it, no doubt

It's worth playing Odyssey just to see and experience the amazing wealth of imagination and cool ideas that the Nintendo devs still possess. They really are in a class apart.

Mario is my game of the year, just pipping battlegrounds for me. The creative side of it is amazing and it keeps you hooked for hours. Not many games can do that these days.

Yeah the only progression in Mario is your skill as a player with all of the advanced tricks and controls. I really appreciate that form of progression rather than grinding up a number though.

Has anyone purchased chess ultra ?

Stick it to the man coming out on November 23rd, one of my favourite PS4 games might have to buy it again.

Thanks great isn't it? I found the Wii U Pro pad to be amazing for battery too!

I recall my ps4 one needing to be plugged in once every few sessions

Yes I had to switch between PS4 pads during sessions. It's super comfy too, best pad I've used tbh.

Thinking of getting some joycon grips, I find the weight of the unit slides down standard when the hands get a little sweaty. Probably go for the Ozrly ones.

Odd list, some would have to have such massive compromises to get running. I mean The Witcher 3, really? At least the maker acknowledges it's a bit silly.
