Is 0052 a new beta bios, are there any changes ?
Unsure, was having RAM issue so I just tried it.
Working fine so far! 1701 was also fine before the RAM went pear shaped.

Do you guys actually validate your RAM settings though?
I've been doing memtest86, but that seems to be fairly slow so then I switched to HCI memtest, which was still fairly slow to get to the 400% coverage on >90% of total RAM. Recently I've switched to GSAT via bash in Windows, which only seems to need about 1 hour to find any memory & hardware errors.
The Google stabilityapptest (GSAT) seems to be the hardest one to pass so far.
PS: I wouldn't use it with FCU because you'll get false positives, Microsoft messed up something with bash in the new update.

ive heard asus realbench is good to use for stress testing and validationg other than that the only other i know is cpu-z
It's the whole memory training thing Ryzen does on boot, sometimes settings work, other times... I need to find some better settings, because currently I'm at 2933Mhz with C16, it's stable at least.

Found the best test in my experience is playing bf1. If it will play an hour or more of bf1 it is stable. Had various tests and bench marks pass but fail in BF1 in under an hour. Bf1 is very sensitive to any instability in overclocks.
Completely agree with this.
Had a slight panic about my Ryzen build not being stable even at stock with XMP enabled on the ram as BF1 kept crashing. A slight bump in volts and I am running 3.7 and 3200mhz ram nice and stable.
Ordered a Cryorig H7 today as the stock fan whilst great for the overclock is bugging me with the constant buzz!
Nearly 8 months of owning Ryzen already! Time flies.
Ryzen+ drop in to follow early next year.
People that bought the 7600K/7700K earlier in the year are now stuck on that without a large outlay.
Newer games are bringing the 7600K to its knees. 7700K is also creaking.

Doesn't really make sense to upgrade from a 7600K/7700K though, probably won't make much sense to upgrade from Zen to Zen+ either, but I guess time will tell.
Though thinking about it, I might drop my current dud 1700 and get a Zen+ chip if they improve the IMC so getting higher RAM speeds isn't such a hassle.

well guys ive offically ordered my ryzen 5 1600 today, so fingers crossed i can start my build on monday minus the graphics card, which i will have to add later on,

So a little perplexed. My R7 1700 + 1080 Ti system has low fps (low GPU usage) and low CPU usage loading The Division and loading maps. Fresh install of W10, latest BIOS and all drivers up to date. My R5 1600 + 1060 system does not suffer from this. The 1700 is connected via DP and 1600 via HDMI to a 144 hz 1440p Dell. Confused.com. Once in game no dramas (Apart from the map lag). Normal CPU and GPU usage.
All games on both systems are on SSD's and boot drives are M.2 SATA SSD.

Have you tried turning SMT off? Some games didn't play nice with that turned on with my 1700.
Fixed it in Nvidia control panel
