*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

I was paying £12 per month and getting boxsets and an extra q mini.

They realised 30% off normal was not going to do it and gave me 60% off everything on the first phonecall. I added sports for uhd f1 too. Seems about £40.

I've got sky box sets + cinema + standard broadband for about £46 (one box, had multi room previously). I'm wondering about getting Sky Q but not sure what deals are around, and whether it's worth upgrading to.

My deal should be ending next month. I've heard that people get some amazing deals, and get things like multiroom for free or a couple of pounds but was a firm £12 for me :(

I have a Sky Q upgrade deal, free 2tb box and a half price mini box? 18m contract though.

I'd be interested in this also depending on the cost.
My current contract ends this week, I have the usual TV package plus sports, movies box sets, HD pack & skygo. Paying £46pm

Don't need mulitroom but the 2tb box is a must.

MS?

How much would that deal be? I'm happy to get multi-room again depending on overall cost and package.

thanks for your help.
Multiscreen. Free 2tb box and half price mini so £49 upfront but will tie the Multiscreen for 18m so if you have a contract ending soon it will significantly reduce your bargaining power.

My 60% rolling contract just expired. They offered 50% on 12 months locked in. I have put my notice in. Any tips to get 60%. Or any Sky Q offers?

Me too.

"...watch Sky on this TV using the Sky Q feature to send it to another device" pretty sure you have just defined Multi Room, other than splitting the signal on the Sky Q Box (probably not feasible) I'm pretty sure you'll have to have Multi Room for two TV's, unless Sky Go can be used, but I don't think it can be...someone may well correct me on that one...

I have multi-room, but not quite enough boxes. But I did have a HDMI to Ethernet adapter spare, so splt the sky from the lounge, into one of the adaptors, and ran CAT 6 to the bedroom, where it is converted back to HDMI. I also have the 2TB box, and the BT remote works fine from the bedroom, and use the standard remote in the lounge.

I also have the mini boxes in the cinema and my office.

But as above, about to lose it all I guess if i dont get a good enough discount.

Currently paying £5 per month for their basic package, I got the previous 6months free after I cancelled last year, I’m about to cancel again and no doubt I’ll get yet another free period along with a vastly reduced price for the remaining time, I say this with a degree of confidence as I’ve been doing this for the past 2 years!

I’ve been reliably informed that they’ll offer almost anything to keep you as a customer- especially if you actually go through with a cancellation- as subscriber numbers has a direct coronation with their advertising revenue.

The trick (for me at least!) has been cancel, let the box becomes effectively a freeview terminal - you still get free channels via Sky even after cancellation- ignore the letters offering increasing discounts - you get around 4 - then play hard ball when their telesales Phone practically begging you to come back! :D

No worries, it's nice to have but not essential so may just cancel it altogether if I can't get a good deal.

Left about 2 months ago and just had a 60% off email come through (was offered 50% when I cancelled).

I don't intend to go back as we're not really watching much at the min but as I've already sent the Q equipment back I'm not sure how it would work anyway

Sky Q doesn't seem worth it for our use, so will see what I get with Sky HD+

After 3 weeks of been switched off and nothing from them i went back on live chat but would still only offer 40% with no contract and eventually gave £25 credit on first month bill so decided to take it. In the past ive always had a call from Derby call centre while still in notice period but this time nothing. Got fed up with not been able to record anything you cant use catch up or even get Itv Hd when using it as freeview. So paying £43pm for box sets and sport hd pack. Wouldnt get your hopes up of them chasing after you though!

Phoned them up this morning and got through to a lovely cheerful lady who offered my existing discount (60%) fixed for another 18 months straight away. So that's the legacy HD pack and variety pack (I get box sets as well) for £24.80 a month which I am happy with. Now to try my VIP black offer of a free Sky Q 2tb box with multiroom for £12 a month through the MySky app.
