Have to agree there. As good as Zelda is, its pretty basic all in all and its pretty much a bare bones,Fisher Price Skyrim.

Hopefully the good reception they got for Skyrim and the ability to sell a 6 year old game for a modern,new release price,means they will.
Think I will hold off playing the XB1X enhanced version of FO3 just in case!
I'm very happy that I played Zelda first because Skyrim would have completely ruined it for me.
I also now understand the criticism about the map being so barren and the quests being so bad.

The default control system in skyrim is a little ropey (e.g. During tense melee combat whilst moving and strafing I would find myself clicking L3 and moving into sneak). A quick rejig though and all is good in the world.

I'm very fond of both Skyrim and Zelda BotW but for very different reasons, they are really quite different games and I wouldn't compare them directly to one another. Zelda has a more interactive world with a focus on exploration and puzzles, where Skyrim is more about character progression, looting and story.
Those who generally prefer RPG's over Adventure games will probably prefer Skyrim.

I think it's the sheer number of possibilities that you have in Skyrim that impresses me. A single castle has more people that you can interact with than in the whole game of Zelda.
Just as an example I'm being very careful how I fight in a certain area to avoid contracting a disease that would permanently make me a vampire.

Never played it. I'm not reading any cheats about the game as that would spoil the game.

Re: Skyrim v Zelda. Pointless comparison in my opinion, I've never considered them even vaguely similar. They play out in largely different ways, different mechanics, different design etc. Yeah, they've got the fantasy setting going for them but that's it.

That last level took me a few days and probably almost 25 attempts. The bit near the end with the Pokio transformation killed me off a couple more times than I'd liked, and unfairly too. I'll get a video up shortly of when it glitched on me and pulled me off the platform. Almost rage quit a few times, to the point where my girlfriend was on the edge of her seat willing me to finish the level, only to fall to my stupid death.
10/10 game.

They overlap a lot. They're both massive open world rpgs which can be completed in any order, they are the same genre and sub genre.
Of course there are differences, but it's really weird to say they're nothing alike.
I also really like both, but Skyrim is on another level. That's not surprising as this is Nintendo's first try, and I look forward to seeing how they progress from here.

Fair enough but its not a cheat. I know people who enjoy playing as a vampire but I found the cons outweighed the pros.
Researching online about the game spoils it for me is what I meant. I'd rather discover everything on my own or I may as well just watch a lets play of it, and I can't think of anything more tedious than watching someone else play

I played through Skyrim on the 360 way back and loved it. I only really played through the story and never really explored much outside of that so I will get it again some time next year and the DLC will be a bonus as I never played any of it. First up though, Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I might pick up Revelations on Tuesday as well. Too many things to play!
I want Xenoblade and the RE games too, but I have too many games to play as it is!
Skyrim and Splatoon are eating my free time, and I still haven't played Rayman or Mario + Rabbids. Mario Odyssey and Shovel Knight are on pause at the moment.
Perhaps it's just that I played Skyrim initially six years ago, and BoTW this year, that I don't consider comparing them.
Any similarities drawn between the two - whether or not you class them in the same genre and sub genre - are ultimately superficial to me. They are fundamentally different games.
