I addition to what Flakgunna has already posted you need to get the right items for the build otherwise you are staved for Fury. Check out my build below, with Call of the Ancients up my fury is always at maximum. So the higher the rank gem the more stats you will get from the bonus. So 3 Flawless Royal Topaz will give you more intelligence on that piece of gear depending how high ranked the legendary gem is (you rank them higher by doing GRifts)

I finally got my first ancient yangs bow last night. Damage went from 1.3 mil to 1.8 mill.

Just done solo 85, just missed the time for 86 but may give it another try after faking rifts for keys

Ty, can't believe how long it's taken as this season I have played much more than last one and had no issues for my crusader. Had plenty of bows which are ancients but none where the yangs one I wanted. I also have 3 primal bows which are just sitting there and got a primal belt last night too
 
Cleared GR95 last night, switched Magefist with Aquila Cuirass for a little more survivability and had 2mins spare. Really feel the need for extra DPS feels like elites are taking an age to kill, hell even normals take 5-6 hits to die.
 
Well soloed gr 86 last night and done rifts just for keys (got 60 now) do back to grs and levelling gems but not finding any better gear for ages now.

Been the same for me for a while, I've come to the conclusion that the best chance for upgrades at this point comes from gambling on shards and re-rolling items in the cube. Had several goes at trying to clear 98 last night, not a problem surviving but I can't get to and kill the rift guardian in the time limit. I've had 5 primals now....all have been useless to me.

I have had 4 primals and like you they are unless to me as well, 3 bows and one belt.

I may try a different build so I can use one of the bows but not sure yet
