Drag races and rolling roads don't sound much fun :p

I think another Alps tour is much more appealing but the cars would get lost miles behind.
I just want to go for the VR day or gokarting if they do it, but all depends on my left leg as it ****** again... :(

Santa Pod is in the middle of nowhere lol, went there to meet my mate as he bought out the drift day there. Worst country roads ever, I averaged 40mph on most...

I want to do NC500 next year. Maybe Wales again. That's all that's on my list.

That's what we're aiming for. Ferry over to Ireland, up the Atlantic coast then across to ferry to Scotland and NC500 clockwise. Giving mainland Europe a miss next year other than for a couple of long weekend rides.

Clockwise is the least fun way as you'll start off on the nice bits and then it'll just get more and more pants.

Also, please use passing places correctly. Most bikes we met were fine and made use of them properly (as did we if we were closer than the bikes to one etc.) but one guy decided to not use one and I'm fairly sure knocked my car's mirror as the road was so narrow and I had nowhere to go and was stopped to avoid hitting him.

NC500 was fun in the car and I can see it being awesome on a bike too so I'd say do it if you can, it'll only get busier too so best to do soon.

My 2018 bike plans are much simpler than most: Complete my mod 2 in Jan, sort out a bike a few months later. :D

That's sounds awesome. Both Ireland and Scotland are on my need to ride list.

You ever stood next to a topfueller when it launches? The pod is in the sticks for good reason :p

Storytime:

I must've been 12 or so when I had my first drag experience (ooooh, errrrr). What was then Rainbow Raceway in South Africa. We watched loads of stuff go off and it was great etc. At that age my mate andI loved ice cream and'd we'd just got our pocket money so off we went. The ice cream van was stood right near the tree. My mate and I both got two ice creams, one for us and one for each of his parents. As we were walking up the grand stand stairs a topfueller let rip for his burnout. Now loud is loud, louder is louder, and then there's a sound level which bypasses every single system in your body and goes straight through your skull into the most primal of your human instincts. I suspect that this is leftovers from when we were tadpoles or whatever.

Anyway, this thing with an apparent 8000hp smokes the hoops and our primal instincts kick in, which is to defend our ears. Picture two boys, 12 or so, trying vehemently to stick their fingers in their ears to prevent their brains turning to schlop. Except that in our hands was a two scoops of soft serve. Suffice to say we had bees flying around us for the rest of the day.

My first Santa pod was maybe 28 years ago and your right about the topfuellers back then there was a stand at the back of the start position with just a mesh fence lol holy crap when they done the burn out's.
Not sure now but you was also able to walk around the pit's between races watching the mechanics work on the cars & bikes.

Friend of mine builds bike's for the strip, when standing next to a top fuel bike your inner organs resonate :D

Yeah, I guess that's the reason why, but still... I wouldn't want to drive on those roads towing a car on a trailer...

Insurance done on the VFR for the year, a whole £159 fully comp, 10k per year, 3 years NCB, garaged. Also did a couple of quotes on the Tuono to see whether to use my 3 years NCB or 2 years NCB on which bike - with 2 years NCB, it's £158 without commuting, £164 with commuting!:D 5k per year, garaged like the VFR.

The advantages of being an old git are starting to pay off now :D

My dad’s messaged me a ‘for sale’ advert for a Zx9R for £1700 suggesting it as a track bike :( A bad influence :(

It’s been thought about before but if I bought a track bike I’d need a van, and I am not having, an sv650, a BMW 340i, a ZX9R(or any) track bike and and bloody van! For one person!

Yeah you can drive a car/van up to 3.5t plus a trailer of 750kg, or a trailer over 750kg so long as the combined weight isn't more than 3.5t.

And the 3.5t isn't the actual vehicle weight, it's the maximum vehicle weight, your BMW with be well below that.

Who’s going for a Christmas Day ride? Me and my dad will be out for a few hours, hoping the roads stay quiet.

Absolutely me. I took the 'new' CB400 out for a first ride today, and I really, really enjoyed it. It was great to ride a far more analogue bike that can break all the same speed limits as my XR, but enjoy it in a different way.

I'll be talking the XR out tomorrow though ;)
