Con Lake Con firmed [Warning: AdoredTV]

no need to be rude, only asked a simple question

Don't call people fanboys.

You'll learn that the biggest AMD fan on here doesn't actually own AMD hardware. Which is brilliant in itself.

The problem in this forum is there are people here who do have some bizarre emotional attachment to whatever hardware they own at the time, to such an extent they spend a lot of their time around places like this trying to police what is being said about their favourite brand. they are invariably also the only ones running around forums calling people fanboys, its only fanboys who run around calling people fanboys.

Others are just plain hardware fans and have criticisms and/or likes of any and all brands, they can be critical of the brand they own while praising the brand they don't, to real fanboys this does not compute, its how someone can watch one or two of a tech journalists video and be immediately convinced they are a fanboy, when in fact they are simply an individual who speaks plainly about his thoughts and opinions no matter who its about, AdoredTV has made said some scolding videos about AMD, speaking very plainly about what he thinks of Vega and the Bulldozer CPU's while having a lot of good things to say about nVidias GPU's and he has made positive videos about Intel's CPU's.

AdoredTV videos cut through the BS in this industry and get right to the action, this usually means calling someone (company) out, Intel and Nvidia have more than there fair shair of dodgyness over the years so you will see plenty of attacks on them.
However he also has plenty of AMD material to use as ammo and now seems to be on a crusade to call out the tech press which is imho well overdue.

Its quite hilarious when you read forums with links to his stuff, you can clearly see the biased folks, they generally tend to defend their favourite vendor if hes slating them, calling him a troll etc, then if he slates someone else, they start preaching about how true he is etc.

I watch all his stuff, its fairly interesting and generally he does a lot of research and more often than not is just posting stuff that the every day people wouldnt bother to read, most of the stuff he screengrabs in his video is widely available if you bother to look for it.

Half of the people who complain about him im sure are only doing so because they dont want the hear the cold hard facts he often brings to light.

Id say he has a slight AMD bias as he openly admits he likes the under dogs, but hes put the boot in to them a lot as well.

AdoredTV has no fear of upsetting the semi conductor establishment, not only is that 'these days at least' a breath of fresh-air yes it is also long over due, perhaps even too late.

Are you still beating that old drum? I mean seriously, why on earth does a person have to own a product/Item to have a view/know about it ?

We all have views on things we don't own. However the way he bangs on about how good it is you would have thought he would have invested in on himself.
If it's that same good then buy one!
Reminds me of armchair football fans or Eddie stobart spotters.

Again I know numerous people that have strong views ect on various products that don't own said product so again , Please answer the question and stop deflecting.

Ita more of a question of why hasn't he got one if it's so good? I can't think of anyone else here that sings ryzens praises higher on this forum.

Please just answer the question! Who or what it is makes no difference to the actual question

You're not a councilor are you by any chance?

Context my friend. I've said we all have views.
When they are as fanatical as certain users you'd think they would at least own the thing they are promoting.

Ryzen IS a great line of CPUs, especially as it's forced Intel to move on from recycling overpriced quad core CPUs. What's your point?

Quite fancy a TR build but the price of RAM to do it justice is eye watering.

I have reasons, they are nothing to do with the product and absolutely #### all to do with you, stop being so nosy.

The fact that i own an Intel CPU doesn't make my views on Ryzen any less valid, now stop trolling with this crap.

This is stupid reasoning. I can't make my opinion that a Ferrari or a Golf is a great car known (albeit often) without owning one? Like humbug, I would certainly buy an AMD CPU if I were forced to upgrade right now (e.g. hardware failure), but I don't have much reason to upgrade my current rig. Does that mean I can't discuss various merits and disadvantages of AMD's products? Hell, humbug's rig is much newer than mine and all he'd gain from going AM4 right now is (potentially) extra cores.

As for the video, the title is clickbait, just like every other video on the internet (and especially YouTube), and I think calling it a "con" is not really justified. The content is fine though.

Any news on 9700k ?
Just some conflicting rumours. Supposedly it'll be 8 cores but it could be 10 nm, or it could be 14 nm again (which would be pretty embarrassing, it will be at least 3 years since the last die shrink already). Who knows if it'll be anything other than another Skylake refresh (Tea Lake?). I wouldn't be surprised if Intel try to get 8 core 14 nm Coffee Lake CPUs out shortly after Ryzen+ (with another new incompatible chipset presumably) since Icelake almost certainly won't be ready in time.
