Oculus Rift

I had a quick go, find it really ok and fine. Turning not so much, as that's still a 45degree "jump", but running around was fine for me. I was seated so maybe that's the difference.

Playing payday 2 the other was not so great. I got use to it, but the constant little teleports around can easily make me disorientated.

I believe there is a locomotion mod for payday 2 that lets you use an analog stick for movement.

Nope, hate teleportation.

Whether you hate it or not doesn't change the fact that the majority of people do generally experience some level of discomfort with locomotion in VR. So yes he is in the minority, game developers don't implement teleportation for a laugh. It's implemented to make movement in games as accessible to the masses as possible, and filling your VR headset with vomit isn't very accessible.

Anyone here find that using your own headset (mostly for the mic, as the rift mic is terrible) is really rubbish due to the strap sitting between the headphones and your head?

The rift headphones are great, but it's a pain having to switch playback and recording devices in Windows if I want to continue using ts

I suspect more like people get used to it and then switch away from teleport to locomotion, I find teleport much more disorienting.

You don’t need the mod anymore, the game got patched a while ago to include smooth loco, and it’s amazing!

Had not spotted the option so will have to find that and try.

It'd be good if more games could include the option for either method, i do like roborecall but find the teleportation makes the experience harder due to the fast pace of the game.

Robin Recall has locomotion? I'll have to check it out!

Me too. I can see why teleportation is in the game and it's definitely needed, but I would like to compare both in terms of playing the game now that I'm more accustomed to VR movement. I think it would help with small play spaces where you can't easily sidestep bullets etc.

Has this been confirmed, or was he referring to Payday 2? Official locomotion support in Robo Recall would be a welcome change, as I'm not overly fond of using mods!

Fairly sure he was referring to payday rather than robo. I just wasn't aware there was a mod available for smooth locomotion.

Sorry for the false hope! Was referring to payday 2 in terms of needing to try the option for locomotion. I too would like to try robo with loco (roboloco?).

I do get the reasons why teleportation is used, and it works well in some places but I think once you get more use to VR locomotion will be fine for all but the hard code motion sickness crowd where teleportation is a must.

Popped my headset on today and in Oculus Home (2.0) and Robo Recall the sky is black, or at least it's not rendering anything past a certain distance. Anyone else seen this happen?

GPU is a 290X, I just updated the drivers to the latest and it's not helped :(

Went back to Classic Home and it's working properly now. Kind of a shame as I really love Home 2.0 :(

I've noticed that since I down/upgraded to Windows 10 I'm getting very small head-set tracking glitches. At least I think they're tracking glitches - there are very small brief judders on occasion. For the most part VR works great, but now I've noticed these little glitches it's got super annoying. I don't think its supersampling as it happens in games where I don't supersample. I've turned off all the sleep modes/power saving for USB, and tried moving the sensors around the various USB ports.
