New Star Trek series - 2017

Agree on another great episode.

Anyone who plays destiny 2, I thought the imperial palace looks like the eater of worlds :D

As for the twist - it was obvious there was something dodgy about that person. But I doubt many people twigged exactly why.

A lot of people seem to sit and theory craft on this stuff to the nth degree of permutations. As long as that's fun for them I suppose, but I prefer to just let the story tell itself to me. Got plenty other things in now playing lists to be watching, rather than obsessing over one show.

I actually think that's why there was such a backlash against the latest Star Wars. Nothing anyone predicted came off.

A thought occurs: since the Defiant leaves the prime universe in their future, they could look at the Defiant's logs to find out if they ever get home, or if they're listed as MIA.

If the future isn't pre-determined, then any actions they take could change it as per other Treks (not that they would necessarily stick to that). They could read the logs and see that Discovery disappears into history, but if they find a way back, then the logs would have changed showing that the Discovery reappeared.

Possibly. Those logs should at least mention whether Mirror-Discovery has been causing mayhem in the prime universe though, which would also be worth seeing.

My prediction is they either return to their own universe, but in the future (post Voyager), or it'll become Sliders in space, where they travel to different universes. If they get home, they'll warn the Defiant not to respond to the signal that got them caught in the mirror universe, and create a paradox.

It looks like they've decided on a universe/characters/theme and have been experimenting with self-contained episodes and recurring themes/story.

I think it's safe to say the self-contained episodes weren't anywhere near as good as what has unfolded since the season break. I'm loving the twists that are in plain sight and wrapping in the mirror universe lore (I loved Enterprise). I fully expect these last 3 episodes to deliver, I just hope they can keep this up through a second season.
