New Star Trek series - 2017

@Efour

Without re-checking the episode, I think the bridge crew on Discovery are generally wearing Terran Empire clothes in case of ship to ship visual communications?

yeah I did think that too but I don't recall her specifically, I know you are correct, we saw them all being issued stuff in the previous episodes.

I'm still enjoying this since it came back from the break but this weeks seems even lazier with the twists that are way too easy to work out, hopefully next weeks should be good if they finally make it there and atleast they mentioned Archer being there before them.

I'm sorry, but there's no way they'd hand their most powerful and only spore drive ship over to an unknown like Empy-G.

They would have at least given Saru and Burny a heads up with some instant command override codes at a bare minimum.

Also poor Saru, he was doing a sterling job and had really stepped up his game.

Stamets says Starbase 1 is "100 AU from Earth, and a light year from our current position". Yet Starbase 1 is shown orbiting a blue inhabitable-looking well-illuminated planet. 100 AU from Earth is the Kuiper belt. There's nothing like that in the Kuiper belt. He also says "1 light year" as though that's a long way? The writers in this episode have no sense of scale.

Stamets must still be suffering from a spore hangover after his last session in that booth, he seems to have got his distances all wrong - still not to worry he is only the chief engineer and chap who navigates round an inter-dimensional network of blue glowy things.

I am sure there latest decision will not come back to haunt them ... in no such way... ohh no... :p:p:p

So, they get back to their universe, the ship is damaged, they've been gone 9 months, Klingons are licking arse left right and centre...

I know let's waste time and resource changing the ISS to USS, nothing like priorities eh...
Are we sure this the prime universe as they seem so dumb at times lol

Grr.

So, I know I've been piling on about this series. But I moan because I care. And this episode genuinely made me angry. Angry at how bad the writing is, angry at how stupid the main characters are, angry that the showrunners spaffed this dumpster fire of a show out and people actually defend it.

I really hope nearly everyone dies at the end of the season so they can start again with a different crew. Actually, scratch that - just kill Burnham off. Preferably in a way that bends reality so that she never existed.

How about everyone does with transporter accident like in galaxy quest, screaming, inside out and blow up

In TNG we soon learnt about data and Geordies visor....so what's the robot all about and the woman with the metal thing stuck to her face?

What, you expect actual characterisation in this show? That would take screen time away from Burnham making God-awful decisions. Can't do that.
