US: **The Walking Dead Season 8 - Contains Spoilers - No future content to be discussed **

Negan named his bat 'Lucile' after his wife, nice romantic heart-warning touch considered he's bludgeoned a few people to death with it! LOL!

Maybe I got side-tracked by something else but I don't get the junk woman and Negan bit. Why did she wheel him to that location, why were the photo's there, why did Negan have a flare and a gun and wtf was the zombie attached to the cart supposed to do.

The flare and the pictures were there because she was planning to escape in the chopper, flares were to signal whoever it was. The gun, pictures, and stuff, were simply what she was planning to escape with. I think she wheeled him there to let the "trolley walker" finish him off, as she thought he'd ordered her people killed. But as she didn't get picked up and had a chance to hear Negan's "It wasn't me honest" sob story, changed her plan. I actually thought it would have been better if she had fed him into the "muncher" from the earlier episode. I still enjoy the show but wish someone would just shoot "I'm not right" Morgan.

The series is rank rotten and full of holes.

Too right! There's no such thing as zombies, I read it on the internet...;):)

I really don't know why folk get hung up on details when the whole thing is a comic book story anyway. This season has been far more disjointed and clumsy than previous seasons.

Zombies do exist. Have you ever been to senior citizens day at B&Q? :D

Rick is becoming more of a ****. I know he's grieving and all but still. "I give you my word, you can come back with us". 1 minute later, Axe to the head. Maybe negan should win.

Yeah, but's that's sort of been the gist of this whole season. The choices they made and the blurring of the line between right and wrong. Rick effectively went over to the dark side, where he became as bad as what he was fighting against. Fuelled by his grief and hatred of the Saviours for what they have done. The whole reading Carl's letter will (my guess) and pull him back from the brink and remind him what they are fighting to build.

But where did Negan get them? I mean he was tied to a 30cm high trolley, there are countless places he couldn't reach!

LOL, dunno. I'll have to watch it again now and look for clues. Though I think sometimes I think we are just expected to stretch our imagination.

Well he did say it was a bag of guns, and there appeared to be a backpack or rucksack sitting nearby, so easy enough to reach.

Not defending what the hell this episode was and where this show is going, but she had her luggage bag (that you see her wheel in and out of her container house) and that's what Negan wheels himself upto and manages to open. Although that whole thing was daft.

This helicopter has been seen and hinted at multiple times... why are they holding back, why can't they just move the story on? They are going over the same thing over and over again now.

They've gone a long way off track. Some of the earlier seasons had a great atmosphere, great characters who came and went with great music to go with it (Ballad of Bob Stookey anyone?). I've gone from being "Holy ****, no way!" at some episodes to not caring at all anymore. Such a shame.

That's the nub of it, the show feels like it's lost it's intensity. I still enjoy it, but I think it's because I got drawn in by the characters in the early seasons. I think they've gone for the same approach as "Game of Thrones" and tried to go down the "no character is safe" route but haven't done it anything like as well.

I think killing Carl was a huge mistake, it makes Rick almost pointless now. In their defense I think they were taking some flak from the fans for the story lines being too wordy, and slow. They've tried to make this season faster paced, but it just feels like one pointless skirmish after another now. Plus they've not really done them that well. The continual switch from being crack shots to not being able to hit a barn door just spoils it, though it is a comic book adventure, not a documentary. That said for me at least, there's still enough in it to give it 50mins once a week. I think the writers do listen to the fan base and change the feel of the show to suit.

Only other show that's caught my eye recently is "lost in space" Though I don't get Netflix, so that's the end of that until it filters through.

people asking how rick is now its understandable and what i said would actually happen if this kind of zombie stuff ever really happened.theres only so much crap before the dancing hand in hand becomes kill all regardless.

looking how its playing out negan the bad man could indeed turn out to be the real saviour. i dont think he will though i think he will either get butchered by rick as many want to see it or the other is negan dies trying to save people. so he ends up being seen as a saviour in his final hr.remember the thoughts of all living together negan was with them.

I stopped watching after the first episode 1 this season (reaction below) and removed it from my Sky recording schedule. By the looks of this thread, I made the right choice.

Just watched the episode just now. I’m out, done with this **** lol.

Not sure how I’ve watched the past 2 seasons tbf, I suppose I kept faith and hope. Shame really as it could be so great.

Those who feel the same, well, you’re probably not in this thread anymore either. Those who do not, well, enjoy the rest of it I suppose.
