Who knows, the American system is mostly elected, if it's going to lose votes it takes a brave district/state attorney to push these things without a public outcry.

It is, imo, a failing of the US system. In matters of justice it's important that the ultimate arbiters are distant enough from politics that their independence can never be called into question.

He was pushed then fell over and the aggressor didn't pose any further threat for a good few seconds before he pulled the gun out. Then instead of just telling him to back off he shot him in cold blood. American laws are crazy.

These crazy laws have made certain people lose touch with reality and rational thinking. Think about the situation with no guns involved (i.e. how it would go down over here). It would've been over after the shove and some words exchanged; maybe a few punches but someone would've run over and broken the fight up pretty quick before anyone got really hurt. The country's gun laws and acceptance of this kind of violence are out of control. The existence of the law that says this is okay is saying "it is okay to shoot people". So they do. I cannot comprehend how someone can shoot with intent to kill after only being pushed to the ground, and the pusher then retreats. That's not rational.

If you want to kill someone specific because you hate them or maybe they looked at you funny, all you need to do is provoke them enough to push you and you can lawfully gun them down!

Except quite often over here, someone stamps on your head while it's on the kerb and you're dead pretty soon after that. You're thinking about the situation occurring about 20 years ago back when I was in school when it was loudmouthing, fisticuffs, then shaking hands and being mates after. It's not like that anymore.

I wonder if there was multiple disabled bays available. If there was, then the guy is just a geek or probably more likely, a racist.

The guy was clearly backing off and he decided to shoot him anyway.

He should consider himself fortunate that he got just manslaughter.

It would have ended with the guy getting a severe beating.

No one comes running to break up a fight

At a guess most of those stabbing will be gang related idiots killing each other. Completely unrelated to two men arguing about a parking space. Generally people don’t go around carrying knives when out shopping with their kids.

Liberal tosh, the black guy assaulting the old geezer was a known and violent drug dealer, like many of the ones in the London killings. If he has no qualms about violently resisting arrest by police officers he'd have no qualms about assaulting an old guy, as we have seen. Violence is a way of life to some.

The bloke will get off anyway, it'll get laughed out of court in Florida. Pushing a man to the ground and complaining about being shot? Good luck with that. The American saying of "don't start nothing, there won't be nothing" comes to mind. In America they have something called personal responsibility, your actions have consequences, think carefully about your choices and you'll do well, assault people and deal drugs and you'll end up dead or in prison.

Guns make killing people easy. It's a simple trigger to pull. To murder someone with a knife is an extremely violent and intimate act. The list of people murdered in the UK's most awful place doesn't prove that a scuffle would end in a knife murder.

You can stab anyone with loads of stuff, pens, screwdrivers, pencils I would go as far to a say even a wax crayon.

Achilles heel with people is the neck or throat, takes most people out.

A punch in the face is nothing compared to a jab in the throat. Next time you in conflict hit them in the throat and you will win fast.:p

Looks like murder plain and simple to me. Carrying a sidearm around just begging for an opportunity to use it.

The fact that the authorities can't see this is the most concerning thing about the whole situation.

A good thing to, personal responsibility is lacking in the U.K. a lot.
