What film did you watch last night?

Ready Player One: I'm read the book and really enjoyed it so was a bit unsure coming in this. They changed so much of the film from the book I just spent the first half thinking about the changes they made. After half way through though I stopped worrying about the changes and just started to enjoy the film instead, started to like it then. I'll give it a 7/10 for now but I'm going to watch it again tomorrow and I suspect I might like it even more.

Valarian: I've heard it was bad but I wasn't quite prepared how bad it was, I actually had to give up after the Rihanna death scene and watch the rest the next day. it seems like a pardoy in some places. The two leads acting performance seems like they don't want to really be there and I understand to be honest. The story is a bit like Avatar down to the aliens looking like the ones from avatar except they are white. Definitely would not recommend to watch, it's not so bad it's funny, it's so bad it's really bad. 1/10 and that feels generous!

Deadpool 2
There was one I didn't get though, in spoilers

When they're in the prison they're talking about the "biggest" guy in there and the ice box etc and Deadpool looks directly at the camera and says "including a large dark black void" or something along those lines. Anyone remember this and know the meaning? :)

'Huge Steaming Bowl of Foreshadowing'....Just playing up on fact movie blatantly building anticipation for big baddie reveal

Extinction on Netflix - Not bad but not great. The main reason I enjoyed it were the two twists which I thought were pretty cool, however the rest of the film leading up to that point was only ok. 5/10

Antman and the Wasp....I went in with low expectations but it turned out surprisingly good. :)

I tried watching Ready Player One the other night but had to give up half way through.... what a load of guff. :/

I watched both Antman and the Wasp and the Meg at the cinema yesterday. Antman was really good. Liked the story and thought it was pretty well made.

The Meg was a pretty standard but enjoyable "switch your head off and enjoy" movie and did better than I thought it would have done.

Blade Runner Final Cut - 6.5/10

Sorry to all the mega fans but whilst this is a fantastic looking film even now, let alone 1982 and had some great ideas, the characters are fairly thin, mixed with some hammy acting and just not as much depth for me as people seem to pull from it in all the fan reviews and breakdowns I have read. It also moves at a snails pace. The setting and ideas are great but the execution of the story wasn't the best.

i've got the imported Blu-Ray 5-disc complete Edition which is fully uncut and in 1080p, brilliant film

must watch the new version sometime

Pacific Rim Uprising

I went into this expecting it to be terrible with bad acting, poor story, too much cheese and overall just a bad movie...annnd expectations met :D

I watched it based on I just enjoy the first one so much. I think my main gripe is the fact that these ridiculously sized robots and monsters move with speed and agility which resembles atheletes and normal humans. Which, just wouldn't be the case due to their physical size and mass which has to move. I think thats why the first one really hit home, because when the robots moved, you could REALLY feel the weight of them moving.

Overall, glad I saw it as it was an itch I had been wanting to scratch. But its not a movie I'll be rewatching. Unlike the first.

Like you I really enjoyed the first one. I have been putting off watching the sequel as I have just heard too many bad things about it :(

Pretty much as expected then.
