Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

It really shows that there are some horrible people out there. I go over to that site to look at the comments if I am feeling a bit down, because then I realise, actually my life it pretty damn good, I am not like any of these idiots. :D
Lol.

2080 - $699
2080 ti - $899

But that's dollars.

Dollars to Pound conversion is:

£548.93 and £705.99

Sounds about right.

You have to at least add the VAT to those prices as the MSRP are listed without any tax.

If those dollar prices are real, then you are looking at £699 and £899 prices here.

I think this might be a shock to the system for a lot of us come 5pm.

There might be a good chunk of people that liked to buy the top tier having to buy mid priced cards from now on.

For me, this is NOT ok.

Slumming it with us plebs is not so bad :p Once the ePeen has shrivelled and died, you realise you're better off without it :p

Better that than Jensen taking a jackhammer to your back passage. He's not the gentle type.

1080ti was $699 for the fanboy edition. A 1-1 $ to £ which is generally what we see and even £899 is a massive increase for the same series. But to go £1000+, that'd be insanity and approaching a 50% increase!

Honestly … as much as id love to dump upwards of 800 quid ( sarcasm ) 600 is my maximum here.... no ti here :( … I remember when that much got me ti's … 780ti and 980ti respectively .

Horrible perhaps, but mostly made up of angry kids and sad loners who live in their grandparent's basement. They aren't 'people' in the real sense of the word, not ones you're ever likely to meet in the real world anyway. I never even look at comments on there personally, it's just a pathetic load of toxic drivel and pointless memes.

There's the odd decent person posting there but much of it is pure crap in the comments, true i guess it makes you feel better reading some of it :p

That image that was posted over and over was bad though, that's stuff you can get arrested for.. I'm not even sure i want to know if it was real or not.

IF these prices are true, and that's a big if, no way will I upgrade from my 1080Ti. Far too expensive and even if the performance uplift is substantial, I'll wait until 7nm. Also the 1080Ti is still a very powerful card and great for ultrawides.

How many of you are out then? Need to know numbers to judge how quickly I can get delivery :D

At the risk of sounding overly dramatic... I can't believe this situation is happening, but if these prices hold true, I'm out for the first release since, well... NVidia has been putting out products.

If the prices above are true I won't be able to afford a 2080, which is what I wanted, and I will settle down for a second hand 1080ti or a Vega 64 new.
