PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

Despite still enjoying it - some times this game does leave you speechless.....

Right at the start, landed, he appears to have no helmet and a level 1 vest.....Lets see what happens....

Just saw a tweet that they have fixed a bug that was causing shotgun pellet spread to be worse than intended.

So I'm guessing that was what was behind your video clip as normally that indeed would have been a kill

Things that I prefer about Sanhok are the loot tables and circle move speed.

But I really dislike the map design, can tell a lot less time has gone into making it and for me plays worst of the 3 maps.

I like to mix up the maps and find the difference in loot tables adds to the variety and does influence play style.
Sanhok they may as well allow you to pick your loadout in the plane. It's more or less a case of; want a sniper rifle? here's one, want a DMR? have one of these, want an assault rifle? pick whichever you want, silencer? here you go, lvl2 armour? there's 3 over here. You can barely move in most houses without tripping over extended mags, first aid kits and boosts.
Which can definitely be fun as you only need to focus on killing people and/or surviving.

On the other maps I like that I often have to make do. Sometimes I'll go all game without seeing a sniper or DMR, which means it's harder to take long range engagements. It's not uncommon for me to come away from the initial loot location with only 1 decent or semi-decent gun and very little meds. But this then adds to the fun as the game goes later I need to decide if it's worth looting that one more area. I might find the stuff I need or I might find other people, that may be better kitted than me. But I do quite like the feeling when later in the game you loot something and you find something better than you have or something you need. On Sanhok that happens much less as you've found everything in the first 1 or 2 places you loot, so it's probably the first thing you pick up rather than a replacement.

Of course I don't get a lot of kills, so the looting part of the game is probably more entertaining to me than some as it's one of the more interesting aspects left.

desert map is as easy to get high end loot as sanhok if you drop in the right places many dont. the north real barren looking places are often the best. if you dont play desert though many just head to big town areas which often yield less loot because more go for these areas. drop the broken gargages and green barns on desert map you can literally be looted up fully on drop.that simple. even sanhok you play with different people they go lets go camp this or big place. there is no need to. goto out shed towns. you get more loot with less people dropping on them. goto a couple of them you have less risk vs reward of loot.

i play sanhok mainly because i just cant be bothered spending time running across mass areas.erangel they should up the loot by 10-15 percent more would play it. desert is fine.its just many dont play it enough to learn the best places to go. i still see people with 1000 hrs dropping bad spots then complain about loot.

a big thing if you dont do it please do it. PICK UP SMOKE AND GRENADES ! haha the amount of people when playing who walk over smoke is infuriating ! its a team saver a player saver. so many dont pick up smoke because they see it as not vital . it is vital its as important as you x4 scope or you grips or whatever you deem it less than. it wins you games when you wouldnt win without it. get used to putting smoke on people instantly as soon as downed .

same as grenades. if you in trouble but dont know where the person is put a grenade out. this often gives you enough time to get away or put them off.so simple but so many dont use nades or smoke.

I like the selection of both types of maps at the moment.
I love sanhok, but it can get a bit too samey for me.

I played some miramar the other day and had some good games, driving to the nearest shooter and attempting to battle him, while keeping my toes out of the blue. Definitely 2 totally different map types which make a whole world of difference with how they're meant to be played. I'm glad they've got the two types, it keeps the game exciting! I wonder if COD will do something similar in blackout.

More to do with the fact that you have to pick up weapons in front of you and adapt your playstyle accordingly. Good weapons and gear mean something on the BR maps. Its borderline like having a create a class system on Sanhok as you can pretty much decide your weapon loadout and playstyle before you've landed.

its very one dimensional and predictable gameplay and your heavily penalised for firing your weapon.

Its not what PUBG is IMO.
Not really. It's just more RNG, you're either lucky to find loot or not.

I find a lot more people are using smokes and the past few weeks the amount of times I've been flash banged and killed has increased tenfold I mean I just stand there like **** that was an epic play haha

Must admit I rarely use flashbangs as it's too hard tell if you've actually got someone or not (assuming they are behind some sort of cover). Smokes are frags have won me many a game though.

Well after 8 years my trusty gamecom plantronics headset has snapped after 1000s of tantrums and throws across the room ha, they were really good to be honest I could hear people coming very clear. What would you guys recommend? I see a lot of people are just using normal stereo headphones instead of an actual gaming headset.

The beyerdynamic headphones seem to get high praise for gaming. Looking at the build quality they don't look like they would survive many tantrums though :D. I use Phillips fidelio X1 and the build quality is very good, much better than the Senheisers I had before them. From what i have read a good pair of stereo headphones is all you need for gaming and are just as good as the surround headphones, with the benefit of also being great for music and multimedia.

Most gaming headsets have gash sound quality compared to a dedicated decent set of headphones and clip on a modmic which are infinitely better mic quality than those found on gaming headsets. This option does benefit from having a decent dedicated sound card. The only ones that have caught my eye are the AUDEZE MOBIUS headset as I fancy a wireless headset. But these still aren't available yet and are quite pricey. If you dont mind wired then there are many options of decent non gaming headsets and clip on a modmic. I'm in the same dilemma. I've been using some QPAD QH90's which I think were made by/or in collaboration with beyerdynamic. And the Kingston Hyper X Cloud 2's look exactly the same as these also. Mine are still working but all the faux leatherette is now disintegrating and having a white headset they now look more a yellowy grey.

That's a coincidence. I've just bought a new headset this morning. I should not wake up early from baby screaming and start browsing Amazon. I got some active sound cancelling Bose headphones on the way. Going to use it for traveling with my ipad too, so can't wait for them to arrive tomorrow. Should be more than good enough for a bit of gaming (using the wire) rather than wireless while browsing the ipad.

I would have to disagree based on my own experience. Whilst the sound is better on decent stereo headphones – I wanted a mic for squad play on discord. After reading on here I got a new modmic and found the mic quality not that great.People were always complaining about my mic quality and those same people on various gaming headsets (many wireless) sounded crystal clear to me. I have since swapped out to some refurbed Astro A40’s which were less than half RRP and have never looked back. Mic quality aside the modmic was also cumbersome (minimal adjustment once stuck to your headphones and the boom is stiff). Running two cables is also messy and the mute switch is positioned stupidly close to the mic.

So if you need a mic either go for a decent gaming set or fork out for a decent standalone mic imho.

If anyone wants an as new modmic to try for themselves I have mine going spare for a reasonable price. I believe it’s the unidirectional and has the mute button.

Interesting, Cheers.

I'll wait for those Audeze's then.

beyers are great headphones some on discord use the mod mics personally id get the beyers and then a good standalone mic. a good standlone mic though can be upto 100 quid. depends how often you use it. speak to some on discord quite a few recently have been buying quite a few different new headsets and trying them out. i think booyaka brought 2 or 3 different sets the other day. i use logitech pros and a blue yeti mike. the logitech pros are very nice open aswell.

Just recently purchased arctis 7 (2019 version) - very pleased with them.

The hyper x cloud wireless were very good as well. Didn't think the sound quality in the Corsair HS70's was that great either.

Returned the Corsairs and it was very close between the arctis 7 and hyper x cloud wireless but the arctis were just slightly more comfy for my big head! Couldn't fault either really.

Wanted wireless so no doubt if wired there are many other choices

Not much in it between the hyper x cloud's and the Arctis 7? I have a massive swad also and have to have the QH90's fully extended but they'll be the same as the QH90's which I have always found very comfortable. I guess the only way to find out is to get 3 in one go and try them to be sure. But helped me decide that if I dont want to stretch to the Audeze Mobius's then I think those cloud 2 wireless will do me. Thanks.

strangle I had QH90's before as well. Superb headphone, faultless but I wanted to switch to wireless.
