Road Cycling

And what on earth is a CS7? Some kinda cycle route? Oh nvm, found it. You londoners are damn spoilt with your cycle superhighways ain't ya! Jealous!

Don't be too jealous you still get lots of crazy drivers and cyclists plus too many traffic lights to count. I also use CS2 which is pretty much single file so if you get a group of cyclists stuck behind someone slow (usually a red light jumper) you can get stuck at that speed for some time and I am not even a fast cyclist :)

I'm using Stans No Tubes tape and Orange Seal Endurance sealant.
Thanks.

TESA 4289 tape from ebay is the same stuff stans use for about quarter of the price
Ahhh, I assume buy the marked width to match my rim inner diameter?

Bloody hell, wish I knew that before. £12 for 66m roll on eBay! Basically a lifetime supply.
Even cheaper if buying 21mm internal like me. Just get stung on postage instead lol, boo! :(

I know it's unreasonable to expect it to feel like my Bianchi but I just can't stand riding it.

I feel your pain man. I did my final clean and re-grease on the Bianchi before it's Winter hibernation last weekend and am now back on the Boardman Team Carbon with mudguards. The difference between the two is like night and day, even though they're both set up pretty similarly. Ironically, my 'Winter' bike has rim brakes and my 'Summer' bike has discs which makes it doubly bad!

Was somewhat sold on getting a Tacx Neo this weekend but saw the Flux is only £450 and I can grab it tomorrow, Flux sounds like a better shout?

Looking at getting one to get my legs back into shape alongside riding out and about, won't be a full winter replacement.
Lickey Hills are just down the road so can use them for proper climbing like I used to.

Nearly bought a pair of tubeless tyres from Merlin the other day to try on my Hunt wheels, they have Hutchinson 11 Storm variants for ~£30 each after the automatic basket discount. Decided to order my first set of 28mm Conti 4 Seasons instead for similar price.

So annoyed with weather last two days, off work until Tues and the wind/rain has been worse than that last big storm we had! Hoping to get out for a long one later this morning to compensate, despite gusts of ~35mph, better than ~55mph yesterday.

I've got some cheap sealant that I'm due to try this weekend along with gorilla tape Shall let you know how I get on for potentially the cheapest tubeless set up yet.

A mate and I made our own sealant with cornflour, liquid latex and another ingredient that escapsles me right now. It works really well but it's a lot of fuss

I see quite a few members of your Berko cycling club is setting records all over the place @BennyC pretty impressive

Yep, I've really not ridden with them much at all this year, favouring Saturday afternoons though saw them all at the TT recently.

Latest achievement: :p

Speaking of which I'm venturing out shortly, on deep sections of course :o

Edit: PB'd a descent, 52mph~ and -6 seconds

Guys any recommendations for a wheel set for a rider that's 100kg - 105kg?

A family member got a new road bike (Giant of some sort) but being so heavy he keeps knocking his wheels out of true. Hes asked for some advice on getting a new wheel set that are strong enough for his weight. Budget is around the £150-200 mark for wheel set.

I got a flux 6 weeks ago
Was broken out the box. Took it back and ordered a Neo.
There are so many stories of them failing I just decided it’s lack of reliability was not worth the low cost. Think it was with Evans who did next day on a Sunday for £5.
( Neo has been faultless)

For the price of this stuff watered down sounds like a faff. Currently ghetto seal seems to be holding ok! But proof is in the pudding!

I'm a right fat **** and I've only once lost a spoke and that was on the stock ****** wheels on my old Bianchi. What's on there now? Are they made of cheese?

Mavic Aksiums are supposed to quite bombproof and cost less than a kidney.
