I realise no one can answer this definitively as the CPU's aren't out there yet. But I am curious as to how these will (clock for clock) vary in games?
What do people think the case will be?
Oh yeah for streaming the i9 would be worth it for sure over the i7.tbh I have bought the 9900k more for the streaming side than the gameside as the current 8600k I have still pretty much plays everything at full whack at a great frame rate. The only thing it struggles with is streaming at 1080p hence the upgrade.. and no I don't use GPU encoding. I imagine the difference between the 9700k and 9900k gameplaying wise will be virtually 0.
Noticed tree forest uk is selling the 8700k now for a lower price than it has been for a couple of weeks.Oh yeah for streaming the i9 would be worth it for sure over the i7.
As big difference between 8600k and 8700k in gaming. Almost zero. But does it worth £500?

Was going to look at the next release of intel.
That offer doesn't make a new purchase with a z390 too bad.
Yeah as I've said in another thread I've cancelled my I9 preorder and bought one of these, can't justify the extra 150+ when I can use it for some better memory.
Presumably yes but it depends how long Intel will be stuck on Skylake clones.Isn’t the z390 a dead platform already? No upgrade path after this 9 gen.
until 2020 it seems. though intel. next skylake will need new chipset....Presumably yes but it depends how long Intel will be stuck on Skylake clones.![]()

Il
I'll get my use out of it, as it will replace my 2500k

Noticed the 8600k selling sub £200 there. Thought 3rd parties through amazon were safe but couldnt trust these 2 offering it that cheap. Very fishy.
