**** The Official Google Pixel 3 Thread ****

awesome review, awesome production and informative.

See he says selfies are too sharp. He doesn't mention there's 3 modes you can choose from. No mention of speaker imbalance, tyring to crack jokes at every opportunity.

He's put in effort I'll give him that but these kind of you tubers have gone for entertainment now over information IMO.

Erica on the other hand provides solid info on screen etc. But there's room for everyone on YouTube, I accept that. Just ranting.

The speaker imbalance if like the 6P will eventually become more wider known as proper consumers get their units. Hopefully this time Google actually does something about it if it is like the 6P's issues.

I think you'd have to be mad to get a 3XL at it's price premium if I'm honest, arguably the worst phone to come out to sit in that price category to date.

Really surprised to see the P2XL comparison videos on the camera, the 3XL takes better bokeh effect pictures, that's about it.

I want to like googles phones but apart from the camera, admittedly, big selling point, the rest is looking average, such a shame. Agree with another poster, overpriced. Like my 2XL but glad i only pay 30 quid a month. These phones more or less feel midrange at high end prices now. Getting harder to justify.

I think they are both fantastic phones personally. Not perfect by any means but very very good. At the price they are pitched at however it doesn't stack up given the specs and the deficiencies.
£599 for the Pixel 3 and £699 for the XL 64gb options and I think they'd do very well but just too hard to justify the cost given what's on offer.

3XL officially a no go for me now. I only went and bought another Note 9 on the bay yesterday with the 10% off :p
No idea why but it was £100 cheaper than my last venture with one so I'll maybe give it another chance. While I had the Note the Pixel 3 was always in the back of my mind but now I know that's not an issue.
Will the 2XL survive again, who knows!?

A lot you seem to have fouused purely on the negative. Mkbhd review is pretty glowing.

As much as I enjoy most of his content, his bias towards the Pixel lineup is evident, which is why I can't trust his reviews on it.

Many of the other reviewers are expressing a shared view on the phone which is more accurate imo.

I think he is pretty impartial to be fair. He said the pixel slate was "a laggy mess" so I am not thinking he's in Google's pocket. I trust his reviews more than a lot of others. In fact I tend to go with what he says and unbox therapy.

Anyway I am not defending the pixel. But we get this each year. Someone can't justify getting one for whatever reason and then jump on minor defects to give reassurance to validate their decision.

I just realised that Top Shot pics are only 1MP in resolution.
Its getting worse isn't it. :(

I've decided, definitely no 3XL for me now. Certainly not at that price.

Going to install the 3XL camera apk on my 2XL later.

Agreed. The Tech Chap was probably the best review I've see so far, along with Mr Mobile.

Agree. The Tech Chap seems to be the best review I've seen. I'm personally waiting for Flossy to start his real review but from what I've seen, he isn't too impressed with the George Jefferson notch amongst other things :D

His unboxing cracked me up :D
Bottom line is it's a great phone that should be priced around OnePlus territory. Flossy makes a totally valid point when he compares the Pixel 3 to what else you can get at the same price, it's really a phone for those who want a camera first. My wife is picking one up so I'll be observing how it fares in the long run but I'm pretty confident the 6T will be a much better phone for a lot less.

Flossy made a good point about the appeal for Stock vanilla Android is in decline, whether it be Google has been tinkering with it too much or that other manufacturers have caught up with it. It got me thinking and partly why I though I'd give the Note 9 another go. For all of stock android's appeal the gulf in features between the Pixels and the Samsung phones are night and day.
